Rap concerts are stupid
 

I went and saw DEL last night. He had A-Plus, Bukue One, and some other local acts backing him up. I went early on mistake so I had to listen to the opening acts which were pretty good. This one white guy freestyled everything that the crowd threw up on stage.

That was really the only thing that impressed me. I guess I'm not a big enough fan of hip-hop to enjoy it live or something. I dunno. I mean, DEL was good of course, but other than that I got kinda tired of it or something. I DUNNO.

Oh yeah and A-Plus took like 15 minutes talking about downloading music. No Joke. 15 minutes. After like 7 everyone just started laughing because he wouldn't shut up.

90% of rap concerts do suck.

Too many hype men fucking up the song, drunken rappers forgetting their own lyrics, volume on the mic turned up a little too high causing distortion, rapping over the song WITH the lyrics instead of an instrumental, etc

It works better if the rapper is backed by a band with another ACTUAL rapper as the hype man.

Yeah I hate when they just play the entire song and just rap over it rather than just the beat. Pretty shit.

Yeah Bukue One thought he had perfect pitch or something because every 5 minutes he was complaining to the "soundman in the back" about absolutley everything.

I saw Talib Kweli and I couldn't understand one word he said. Pretty disapointing.

It depends on the act and how overproduced they are.. Like, J5 prolly rule live.. 50 Cent or some shit prolly suck..

David Banner is good live because he uses a live band and sound exactly like he does on cd..

There are prolly just as many rock bands who suck live too..

I saw him at MSG though, so it could have been because it was a huge venue.

I went to some summer concert and Nappy Roots where on it and they where pretty tight.

I don't really like going to any concerts though, nevermind just rap ones.

I saw "The Game" in concert for some reason and it was probably the worst concert I have ever been to in my life. Had like 8 guys on stage with him being "hype men" and like every single one of them were rapping at the same time. It sounded so awful. Like wow. Why would they think that sounds good?

Rap today in general is stupid.

Once again, there is alot of shitty music out today in general, not just "rap"..

I mean, if I judged all rock music by what is played on MTV, the same could be said about it..

Most "mainstream" music is shit.. Doesn't make "all" music shit..

Go buy Masta Killa's "Made in Broklyn" and then come back and tell me there's no good Hip Hop anymore..

I find it funny that Nas' "Hip Hop is Dead" is being played on MTV and mainstream radio.. Irony at it's finest..
