Psycho Sid Vicious Appreciation Thread!

I'll admit it, he was pretty big when I first got into the WWF, and he was probably the first wrestler I was a mark for. He was a big guy who looked like he could kick ass.

So while he may only have half a brain, and this thread may be live and he doesn't get a do-over, he still deserves an Appreciation thread!

So here's to you, Psycho Sid Vicious!

poop

Crippla 12-26-2006 07:37 PM

I also have to admit, there's always been something I like about him. I think it's just the way he played his character or it could be because he was part of a good wrestling era but I did mark out for him back in the day.

P.S.- I was just joking in the legends battle royal thread, Diesel. I have no beef with Sid.

I love you, but on this subject you anger me. :foc:

So what he fucked up on some promos, he's HUMAN. He was the complete package. And if anyone brings up some lies about a so called "accident" they will forever be on my shit list. No pun intended.

Skippord 12-26-2006 10:20 PM

You might say the Undertaker was on Sid's Shit list

The Naitch 12-26-2006 10:39 PM

Sid: uh can I start over

Mene Gene: Uh we're live

Rammsteinmad 12-26-2006 10:46 PM

I always lilked him in your typical big man way. He was in some total train wrecks and some great matches. When it comes to big men he definitly belongs near the top with the best of 'em in my opinion.

Skippord 12-26-2006 11:57 PM

Was the neg rep necessary Diesel?

It makes me cry at night

D Mac 12-26-2006 11:59 PM

Don't think it will hurt you besides I'm in a foul mood for some reason.

Skippord 12-27-2006 12:04 AM

Um....I love you that do anything for you

D Mac 12-27-2006 01:14 AM

:( Now I feel bad.

Destor 12-27-2006 01:16 AM

Why try and defend Sid Diesel? If you just admitted you were a mark for him it would be one thing, but actually claiming he to be the total package? Come on dude. Nash is better than Sid and Nash will at least tell you he he's trash in the ring.

Crippla 12-27-2006 06:59 AM

Sid was terrible but it was funny. I somewhat marked out for him like I said.

Hey, shit happens.

Wait, :shifty: No.

Gertner 12-27-2006 12:05 PM

he should be in the hall of fame

D Mac 12-27-2006 12:08 PM

Finally something we can agree on.

Crippla 12-27-2006 12:10 PM

And I have half the brain that you do.

The Naitch 12-27-2006 06:27 PM

Yo D-Mac, lay off the Bud Light man

The One 12-27-2006 06:34 PM

Never once found a single second of Sid television to be even mildly entertaining. The closest thing that I enjoyed was his leg break, not because I take pleasure in him getting hurt, just that I take pleasure in ANYONE getting hurt in such a nasty way. :y:

Juan 12-27-2006 07:07 PM

he was mildly entertaining in ECW.

It was Jim Ross, not Mean Gene.

Anyway, as this is an appreciation thread; Sid oozed charisma, had an awesome look (especially in 1990-92), a menacing interview and could work a squash match like no-one else.

But when it came to longer matches- high profile matches- he was clueless and maybe the most unreliable employee in the business.

Have the video on my MP3 player

Blue Demon 12-27-2006 11:37 PM

man I miss that guy :D

Rammsteinmad 12-28-2006 02:49 AM

His match with Benoit at Souled Out 2000 was good. And Benoit sold his moves like crazy imo.

LOOK AT THE COCK ON HIM

Vastardikai 12-28-2006 04:19 AM

Me and a buddy of mine were laughing about how loudly Sid was calling spots during War Games that one year. That and the fucked up Powerbomb he gave Pillman.

Seriously, he was viewed as a can't miss prospect, and I honestly see why. He had a good look and a good finish.

However he'll be remember for his terrible interviews, his Pants shitting, the leg break, and the Scissors Incident.

"Alleged" pants shitting. :foc:

Which by the way is a lie.

Crippla 12-28-2006 12:39 PM

No, it was as real as his promo.

NASH SUKS AND SID WOULD POWERBOMB HIM THRU DA WOLRD111111111

Stickman 12-28-2006 01:10 PM

I liked him in the WWF. I was younger so maybe I didn't notice the fuck ups. But he had the look, he was psychotic, and his powerbomb ruled all. He was terrible in WCW but was a threat because of his look and the powerbomb.

I didn't know he was in ECW and I'd love to see some of it if anybody has a link.

He was with Judge Jeff Jones. He'd pretty much just interrupt matches and totally kick the shit out of everybody

NeanderCarl 12-28-2006 09:01 PM

Heyman booked him like a monster killer, but then what else could he do with a guy like Sid? The real shocker was how much Sid got over in ECW. I fully expected the ECW fans to shit all over him, but he was over huge.

As for all those saying Sid was a bad interview; he was actually a pretty good interview for the most part. But he had a couple of fuck ups, and now he's been labelled.

I always liked Sid in the way I like Monty Brown right now. Even the Live screw up thing, it sort of made his character the way it was. He was a big mean badass, but there was also a goofy charisma about him.

Thumbs up.

Sid's interview at around the 7 minute mark is pretty good.
