Anything Big/Epic to happen tonight?

Does anyone believe that at tonight's royal rumble something major or epic will happen that we will remember for a long time? Last year's was a great ending.

ron the dial 01-28-2007 12:56 PM

I'm pretty sure that Chris Jericho, Steve Austin, and even Eddie Guerrero are coming back tonight. So this should be a night for the ages. Seriously.

No, nothing big/epic is going to happen tonight. I'll be surprised if anything entertaining/worthwhile goes down.

Gerard 01-28-2007 12:57 PM

Honky Tonk Mans gonna sing us a song while simaltaniously tounging vinces asshole.

Well whoever wins the annual Royal Rumble is memorable I suppose, regardless of who it is, every year. Other than that, No. :|

If Kennedy wins the title, its too soon in my eyes.
As for the rest of the pool. You're looking at the champions being 3 from this list:
Umaga
Lashley
Test
Cena
Batista

NeanderCarl 01-28-2007 01:12 PM

I don't like the fact that all 30 entrants have been announced. No surprise entrants in the Rumble by the looks of it.

NeanderCarl 01-28-2007 01:13 PM

The "surprise entrant" is one of the most appealing elements of the annual Rumble match.

Sabu will probably get beaten up in the back again and carted into an ambulance while the crowd shout bullshit....again.

Then little bastard takes his place, dishes out 29 low blows which somehow toss the opponents out of the ring then goes on to mania. :y:

Jeritron 01-28-2007 01:15 PM

Sometimes it is, but other times its just like yayy Golddust and Tatanka. Then the real predictions aren't about who wins the rumble underway, but how long until they are jobbed out, released and re-signed to be a suprise entrant.

Imagine they had little bastard come out and eliminate RVD to try and kill him even more.

A lightbulb just appeared over Vinces office when he read that. :shifty:

NeanderCarl 01-28-2007 01:20 PM

It should have been a 40 man job this year. That way we could have had Harry Smith, Chuck Palumbo, Godwinn and Gordy, Flash Funk, Marcus Cor Von etc in the mix.

Jeritron 01-28-2007 01:22 PM

I'd love to see Little Bastard be used as a weapon by someone crappy to eliminate someone shittier. But seriously, the Rumble is a clusterfuck, Finlays in it. So expect him to make an appearance of some kind. Hopefully not in either of the scenarios your or I mentioned Gerard.

Its strange to me marcus Cor Von (monty brown) isn't being used in the rumble. What are they thinking? Jesus, are they above even having the guy run in do a few moves and get knocked over the top rope? Way to showcase a new "star".

NeanderCarl 01-28-2007 01:26 PM

I'm confused as to why Benjamin is in the Rumble, but Haas isn't. Maybe Benjamin is a "removable" in case they do have a surprise entrant.

Don't put it past WWE to have The Great Khali win this.

lort 01-28-2007 01:29 PM

Isn't it the first ever heal vs. heal championship match with Test vs. Lashley.

Or is Lashley meant to be face?

Wait, no one even cares.

Jeritron 01-28-2007 01:29 PM

Great Khali is being built so strongly, it scares me. I don't think he will win, but likely they'll make it into a 10 man job to eliminate the guy. Or have him eliminate himself to beat up on someone and send them out in an ambulance.

I guess Lashleys supposed to be a face. In ECW theres really no such thing as heel or face because that requires fan reaction. Save CM Punk and the lingering pops for RVD since his depush the crowd is just waiting for the next match.

lort 01-28-2007 01:39 PM

Yeah that is right.

When I stopped watching ECW it was "new school ECW (heals)" vs "old school ECW (faces)" and I assumed they were still going with that. So I was thinking Lashley would fall under heal then.

Mr. Nerfect 01-28-2007 02:38 PM

With the WWE planning on the following WrestleMania card:

* Batista vs. The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship

* John Cena vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship

* Hulk Hogan vs. Shane McMahon

* Shawn Michaels vs. King Booker

This pretty much confirms The Undertaker will win the Royal Rumble tonight. *Yawn* Looks to be a shit WrestleMania, and it looks to be a shit Rumble. If I had my way, The Hardys and Johnny Nitro would be removed from the Royal Rumble Match, as they are competing elsewhere. I'd also take Rob Van Dam out of the match, and have a new General Manager of ECW revealed (I hate to say this, but seeing as it has been bastardised, Stephanie McMahon makes a lot of sense as an interim GM) taking RVD out of the Rumble Match, and added to the ECW Title Match under his request.

This leaves four slots in the Rumble Match open for surprise entries.

Xero 01-28-2007 02:40 PM

Does ECW even have a GM anymore?

RP 01-28-2007 02:43 PM

LOL there will be 2 suprise entrants. Goldust and Vader .Replacing RVD and CM Punk.

the wwe champion 01-28-2007 03:27 PM

The Final 4 men in the ring

1. Hardcore Holly
2. Umaga
3. Little Bastard
4. Boogeyman

suddenly the clocks start the countdown to zero
and whoos IF YOU SMELL WELL THE ROCK IS COOKING
and as he enters the ring eliminates Umaga and boogeyman
with a double clothesline and Sparky Plug eliminates himself
because he wanted to pee so bad and finally rocky hits
bastard with a rock bottom and mocks him like randy did rey.
Then lifts him on 1 of his shoulders and trys to eliminate lil bas.
who manages to hold on the ropes and performs a huriccarana
eliminating rocky and winning the whole freakin rumble.

tucsonspeed6 01-28-2007 05:21 PM

A pattern has emerged in the WWE's booking style. SOmehow those in charge of booking have it in their mind that the fans will enjoy the shows more when the faces win cleanly and the heels get what's coming to them. Tonight's show is one of the big four, so expect all but maybe one match to be won by a face tonight.

Smaller PPVs will have more heel wins, but these wins will only be finished with a rollup, interference, or DQ.

...Nothing interesting will happen, because the WWE thinks that having Cena win cleanly IS something interesting to you.

Xero 01-28-2007 05:32 PM

They should have whoever is one of the secret entrants win. It would take everyone completely off guard, especially if it was someone who hasn't really been talk about in a while, like...

JERICHO FUCKING COMMA CHRIS!

Xero 01-28-2007 05:35 PM

Aw shit, just thought that K-Fed could be one of the entrants.

I think if he was built up as a "SPECIAL GUEST" entrant, even a Jericho return couldn't balance that. A Jericho win maybe, not just the return.

Disturbed316 01-28-2007 05:43 PM

Oh shit, forgot about K-Fed. Maybe he can do a Drew Carey and just jump over the top rope.

aaaaa 01-28-2007 05:46 PM

Rumble Match = Main Event (?)

It will be "Big/Epic" if the Rumble Match is actually last on the show. I remember being :wtf: when they announced that it was in the mid-card last year.

Testicle 01-28-2007 05:47 PM

Apparently, according to the TPWW headlines they are going to do one of those injury angles, taking out two of the anonuced wrestlers.

Xero 01-28-2007 05:50 PM

They're probably taking one of the teams from the tag match out.

Watch it be CM Punk and Carlito.

DAMN iNATOR 01-28-2007 06:08 PM

I just got to thinking, it would be pretty "epic" if you want to call it that, if there wasn't at least SOME kind of Divas match on the card tonight...most of the PPV's I've ever seen have at least one chick match...hope they throw one in there for tonight, just because I can't see how you could possibly have a 1 hour Rumble, plus 4 matches more taking up a whole 2 hours and 45 minutes...it would also be pretty "epic" if the Spanish Announce Table (where Hector and Hugo or whatever their names are, sit) isn't in pieces by the end of the PPV...they most ALWAYS have it get destroyed at any PPV, doesn't seem to matter how insignificant it is...maybe it's just something they do as a recurring inside joke/treat for all the fans who keep watching the PPV's or something...anyways...

ECW: The TNA alternative.

ChiefStubbs 01-28-2007 11:00 PM

Man, Sabu's elimination was tight.

Kane Knight 01-28-2007 11:35 PM

BAH GAWD! JOHN CENA CHOKESLAMMED BY TAKER!

El Fangel 01-28-2007 11:39 PM

You know if would have made sense last year to have the Rumble not the main event if the rumble interfered in the title match to give the win to the person he wished to face.

Kane Knight 01-29-2007 12:06 AM

JERICHO MADE UNDERTAKER TAP!
