A Fox (?) Special "Behind the Scenes"...

About ten years ago there was what I think was a Fox "special" on how wrestling was fake. They would do skits where a wrestler would be walking down the aisle and an old woman asked for an autograph and he ripped up her pad or something and showing the announcer calling to the ref to "wrap it up" with his pencil. (Those two stick out fairly vividly, although the woman may have been a kid.) It was sort of like those magic shows they did.

Anyway, does anyone know exactly what this was? I'm pretty sure it wasn't "The Untold Story of Professional Wrestling".

Yeah, still got this show on tape from the original airing

Xero 01-28-2007 04:43 PM

LOL, that's it.

ROFL, the "Armbar" exposed. That's one huge secret!

LOL: While most of the professional wrestling world refrained from acknowledging the program, the night following its airing, Ernest "The Cat" Miller entered the ring during WCW Monday Nitro and sarcastically shouted in a melodramatic tone to the audience, "Now you know all our secrets!"

If someone has this and could upload it that would be awesome.

Blitz 01-28-2007 04:47 PM

I'll try to get it up for you later tonight.

Xero 01-28-2007 04:48 PM

You're the man. :y:

Dorkchop 01-28-2007 06:23 PM

What was funny about that was that a lot of those secrets were already known... they just weren't openly talked about. Just by watching one move you can see the ring was springed. Also the microphone was obvious and makes sense. You could tell there was a mic when the ref would count falls.

I think they had one about the turnbuckles having foam inside them. Everyone knew they had foam inside them. George the Animal Steel used to rip apart and eat them.

As if the cloth padding didn't give it away...

M-A-G 01-28-2007 06:29 PM

When the hell has a heel ever knocked over a Stunt Granny?

M-A-G 01-28-2007 06:29 PM

Xero 01-28-2007 06:31 PM

I'll take WrestleCrap for 1000...

The wrestlers
  • The All-American Boy
  • Ben Hurt
  • Brash Knuckles
  • Brute Force
  • Colossus
  • Private Pain
  • Skullduggery
  • Slither

What are names even Vince Russo wouldn't use?

M-A-G 01-28-2007 06:33 PM

Don't forget Harley Race as the booker.

Where is Stan Lee when you need him?

Xero 01-28-2007 06:48 PM

I keep reading "Ben Hurt" as "Bret Hart".

Kane Knight 01-28-2007 09:43 PM

Blitz 01-28-2007 11:50 PM

Dunno if I'm gonna be able to upload it, as I can't seem to find a working torrent.

Xero 01-29-2007 09:47 AM

It's cool, thanks for trying though.

Can't help but notice yo left out "Ready to Rumble."

...What?

Kris P Lettus 01-31-2007 04:22 PM

I actually like that movie..

The simple fact that WCW made a feature about wrestling and tried to make their product look real is awesome..

Xero 01-31-2007 04:49 PM

You know, I never realized it, but R2R seemed loosely based on the screwjob.

Except, you know, Bret never came back in a shoot in a huge-ass cage. And it was a Sharpshooter that screwed him, not a Four Post Massacre. :shifty:

Unfortuantly it did the opposite.

Kris P Lettus 01-31-2007 05:17 PM

Rose McGowan is mad hott..

Not gonna post the picture..

KayfabeMan 02-02-2007 12:00 AM

Harley Race got so much heat for that, needlessly.

It was stating the obvious, and he made a paycheck.

Good for him :y:

Heartbreak MShake 02-09-2007 02:44 PM
