Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?

Sam Raimi, evidently.

I read on another board that it's being reported that Raimi's going to be doing the new Shadow movie. IMDB has no info (For free), but has an entry for it, listing it as a 2010 release date.

The 1994 version didn't draw a profit. There wasn't enough of an audience interested in an old radio show then to make a profit, so what could Rami do to make it not bomb? Loading it up with star power would just jack the budget up more.

Yea, but now its the age of comic book movies. And you could put someone recognizable in the cast. And with Sam Raimi's career now, you can just say "from the director of Spiderman and Evil Dead trilogies"
It'd at make at least a little money nowadays.

The 1994 version was ass. I suspect simply not making it suck would be one thing he could do. Though it is Raimi, and I have limited faith in him.

Yeah yeah, I know. "People aren't interested in radio shows..."

Whatever. It certainly had nothing to do with merit.

I liked the original, just for the flying knife though.

The best thing about the Shadow was that it wasn't the Phantom.

Put Bruce Campbell as Shadow!

Jeritron 02-05-2007 01:24 PM

How about put Bruce Campbell as Ash, and rename this project Evil Dead IV

Gertner 02-05-2007 01:33 PM

How about put Bruce Campbell in the trash, since that's where his career is.

Kane Knight 02-05-2007 02:46 PM

Oh, you done pissed off half the board now, Gertie.

You're right, but....

He never had a career, so it's fine . It's not exactly a Steve Gutenberg case. The guy did what he did and is doing just fine.
