I haven't read the manga, I'm watching the series. Anyway, it looks like L has just revealed himself to Light, who he suspects of being KIRA, a man-who-would-be-God going about killing criminals using a shinigami's notebook to create a perfect world.

Holy run on. I don't know much more beyond where I'm at (episode 14), so don't spoil it for me. :mad:
