Chris Cornell leaves Audioslave
http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdail...slave-breakup/
Chris Cornell has dropped the bomb. In a press release sent out to announce the release of Cornell’s new solo album Carry On (out May 1st) the singer also announces he’s leaving Audioslave. “Due to irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences, I am permanently leaving the band Audioslave,” Cornell said. “I wish the other three members nothing but the best in all of their future endeavors.” ------------------------------------- Was never a big Audioslave fan, but hopefully a permanent RATM reunion comes outta this. |
Audioslave were naff, so no great loss.

Here I thought ZDLR was the cock. Maybe it's everyone else in Rage...
|
I'd rather a Soundgarden reunion than Rage, although a Rage album now would certainly have a lot of fodder.
|
Rage almost never said anything specific in their music. Their generic angry white boy act will always have fodder, with or without Bush's fuckups.
Soundgarden>Rage, though... |
Hey, a crappy band just ended! Let's see what they all do next!
|
I suspect they will reform under another name, and then pop back up with a new frontman. Their old front man's solo record will never come out, and they will reunite after a couple of lacklster records.

Slave To The Machine
Sounds about right to me. |
To be fair, it's a generic two white boy, one black man, and a latino angry generic act that caters to white boys.
Tom Morello > the rest of Ragegarden |
Thank God
Chris Cornell is the mang but Audioslave sucks |
I think he will stick to his solo career for quite a while as long as his first album is a hit.
To be honest I dont see any reunions in the near future. Maybe when he old and thinks he needs a bit more cash, then he may do a reunion tour. |
Hated audioslave, Soundgarden reuniting would be great, RATM wouldn't. I love Rage and everything, I jut have a really bad feeling that if they made any more records they would turn out to be really radio friendly.

Morello is very versatile. Ever hear Lock Up? I never thought I'd hear someone go from Hair Metal to anger rock... |
Lock Up (US band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search <!-- start content --> Lock Up is a rock band that featured Tom Morello on guitar before Rage Against the Machine was formed. The band was founded with Michael Livingston (formerly of the Mau-Mau's) on guitar and Kevin Woods on bass. They had previously played together in the band Ella and the Blacks, which also included Brian Grillo and Brendan Mullen (founder of the Masque, the first L.A. punk rock club). Grillo became Lock Up's lead singer. The original drummer was Michael Lee, who quit and was replaced briefly by D. H. Peligro, formerly of The Dead Kennedys and later with Red Hot Chili Peppers. After Peligro left, he was replaced by Vince Ostertag. After a falling out during the signing process, Livingston was replaced by Morello. Chris Beebe on bass completed the lineup that released Lock Up's sole album on Geffen Records, Something Bitchin' This Way Comes, which came out in 1989. The title of the album was based on Ray Bradbury's 1962 novel Something Wicked This Way Comes. Most of Morello's guitar with Lock Up is unlike his work with (then-future band) Rage Against the Machine. His solos mainly consist of arpeggios, tapping and overall fast fretwork, although evidence of his experimenting with the toggle switch can be heard in a couple of tracks ("Nothing New", "Punch Drunk"). The album defeats any claim that Morello is purely an "effect-based" guitarist. Disappointing sales of the album led to the band being dropped by Geffen and the band's eventual break-up. Grillo was later frontman for the "homocore" band Extra Fancy. Brad Wilk, the drummer for Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, met Morello for the first time when Wilk unsuccessfully auditioned for Lock Up. Homocore. I actually found out about the band because I'm a fan of Extra Fancy. |

Meh I liked Audioslave but not to any great degree. I prefered RATM but a full reunion would probably suck and dissapoint I bet.
|
Rage getting back together is amazing. Cornell now need to pick up his phone, find his guitarist from Soundgarden and make a new band with him.
Oh, and Cornell needs to not cover anymore songs. You haven't heard him do Billie Jean yet. Yeah. Not kidding. |
Amazing?
Pfft. |

Which is BS, even if his RATM stuff is meh. Lockup's song "24 Hour Man" is very catch, I'll say that for it. I really only bought it because I like Extra Fancy, and when I found out Grillo had another record, and then found Morello was on it, I NEEDED to have the record. Morello's guitar work is technically great, it's just not my kind of music for the most part. |
Inside Out > RATM > Soundgarden > Audioslave
btw Inside Out is Zack De La Roca's first band and they only made one EP. |
Audioslave was alright I guess
If RATM does come back maybe they can make a song that doesn't sound exacty like every other song they have ever put out |
