Is a 360 worth buying if i dont have a HD tv?
 

I'm gunna buy a game machine this week. I was gunna go with a PS2 so i can play madden and NCAA football, but i could get a 360. I just dont have an HD tv. Should i not waste the money until i get a HD?

But my TV is shit. I mean the screen is good, but this thing is like from 1998 or something. Given that tidbit would you say PS2 until i can afford a new TV or fuck it go ahead and get the Xbox 360 and run that sum bitch.

I found some text in the games were really hard to read on my old SDTV. One thing you can do is buy the MS VGA Adapter, and use your computer monitor to play. It may not be as cool to sit at your desk to play, but it will give you HD resolutions and quality.

Whats the adapter cost?

I got a pretty nice computer screen so explain to me how all that works with the 360 and hooking it up to the computer screen.

Mine works fine with it. It'll be a bit blurry, but it will work well.

The PS3 is basically the same with HDTV/Regular TV, so it really should come down to games.

Does the basic 360 package have online ability?

No, television. But with the Composite (HDTV) cables because my TV has the inputs. It's a bit sharper than the RCA input.

Meh, i bought a HDtv because i bought a 360...but be carefull with what you buy, you can buy a HDtv that is HDready, meaning they support the HD signal, but if you really want an HDtv you have to buy one thats FullHD, they are high priced though.

I still prefer my PS3 over my 360 though.

I dont have a HDTV but I find the 360 is still shows off the graphics well etc. Some games do have tiny text which can be annoying, Dead Rising is the main culprit, but everything else about it is pretty awesome.

In that case, if you don't have a PS2, I'd go with that. You could get the system and like 20 games for the same price of the 360.

I spent 800 bucks on my HDTV, its a flatscreen LCD 32", very nice. Makes the 360 and PS3 look absolutely incredible.

That shouldn't be a prob, i haven't tried it yet, but i know there are, DVI/VGA cabels out there to link them to your computer monitor.

Take a look at a gamestop, they should sell them.

There's really no difference. I got a 30 inch widescreen flat tube and it works great.

However, if you are looking for an HDTV, I'd check out Best Buy's Hot Deals Wednesday. That's where I got mine at a good price.

Get a box like the x-vga rather than the official xbox monitor cable, that way you can use anything with it.

I'm not familiar with that particular brand, but I purchased a VGA box, and it was absolutely crap. Not HD compatible, and about half as good as the standard RCA cable connection..
