What's the last storyline that really interested you

to the point where you could not wait for next Monday or Impact to tune in? Like where you were compelled to watch.

Mine would probably be Hardy/Edge, but it wore off quick.

Anybody Thrilla 02-16-2007 02:41 PM

Trish/Mickie James

Jeritron 02-16-2007 02:42 PM

This summer I was actually digging Raw when they were doing the RVD/Cena ECW startup fued. And the DX reunion. Then they both ended up sucking.

diothoir 02-16-2007 02:42 PM

Jericho/Christian/Trish/one dollar Canadian

probably

That's about right to me.

Jeritron 02-16-2007 02:49 PM

The Matt Hardy/Edge fued was great, but it ended up going nowhere but a burial.

Whats the last storyline that really interested you guys and ended up paying off?

Anybody Thrilla 02-16-2007 02:50 PM

Christian/Jericho/Trish at WMXX, as mentioned previously.

Batista/HHH for me

Anybody Thrilla 02-16-2007 02:51 PM

Oh yeah, that was good too.

RGWhat316 02-16-2007 03:13 PM

Trish/Mickie was really one to see what was gonna happen next.

Nervous Ferret 02-16-2007 03:14 PM

Austin Wrestlemania, use your goddamned brain

Corkscrewed 02-16-2007 04:05 PM

Mickie/Trish and HHH/Batista (since they went on at the same time, I think...)

Also, RVD being the multi-champ.

Pardeep 619 02-16-2007 04:25 PM

Personally, I loved the Eddie - Batista storyline and how WWE were teasing how Eddie might turn face or stay heel. That story was done rather well up to the No Mercy match... then they just dropped it afterwards (although in hindsight Eddie did pass away shortly after, but the one on one rematch was never booked even though it was speculated)

Indifferent Clox 02-16-2007 04:29 PM

Mike Knox/ CM Punk

They were a year apart actually, HHH/Batista was at wm 21 and Mickie/Trish was at wm 22

NeanderCarl 02-16-2007 04:37 PM

I tend to like the Legends bits best at the moment, being a bit old-school, so I guess I liked the Ric Flair/Spirit Squad feud, just to see what veteran would show up next.

The One 02-16-2007 04:44 PM

Honestly, the last time a story had me just glued to the point of having to see what happened next was probably Mick Foley/Ric Flair, but before that it was the entire build up to WrestleMania XIX (Michaels/Jericho, Rock/Austin, Lesnar/Angle, Hunter/Booker).

Lock Jaw 02-16-2007 04:58 PM

Mick Foley/Ric Flair and before that Jericho/Captain Charisma

Caged Heat18 02-16-2007 05:37 PM

I enjoyed the slow burn to the DX reunion, but as people said that didn't really pay off. I think the last feud that had me excited was probably Jericho/Christian's feud heading into Wrestlemania XX. It also ended up being a forgotton very good match.

The storylines in place for the WMXX matches were all excellently done. Jericho and Christian was great, as were Taker/Kane, Brock/Goldberg, the World Title Match, Mick Foley/Orton and Evolution. There were all kinds of great storylines at work. The Angle/Eddie storyline was lacking and pretty simple but they made up for it with their charisma and in ring work.

BigDaddyCool 02-16-2007 06:45 PM

I would say Boogen v. Finlay. That looks like it ought be good.

Totally agree. When you watch Royal Rumble 2004, you can see they already had plans and matches they knew they wanted for Wrestlemania XX. They actually had long term booking, which I think helped make WM XX even better. Actually if you even go back to the the Survivor series of '03 they already planted the seeds for a Undertaker/Kane, and Brock/Goldberg match.

Shadow 02-16-2007 07:30 PM

Jeff Hardy's crazy run up to the ladder match with the Undertaker. Even though I knew he wasn't going to win, the payoff for that storyline was just awsome.

The Optimist 02-16-2007 08:19 PM

For me it was probably the Kane vs. Fake Kane angle. I really was interested with how that was going to get explained and how it would turn out.

Good job WWE.

Looks like Alex Wright.

Jura 02-16-2007 08:43 PM

It should be embedded in your mind, the image of Alex Wright and instinctively know that it is him.

To be completely honest, I'm digging the current main event storylines for Wrestlemania.

Fox 02-16-2007 10:47 PM

There have been some really good ones, like RVD as multi-champ and parts of Mysterio's title run. But the last storyline that REALLY had me hooked was Orton/Foley, way back around Wrestlemania 20. It's honestly the last thing that had me thinking about what would happen with them next on RAW and wanting to make sure I caught the show.

Foley's walk out and the multiple beat downs were priceless. Their match at Mania with The Rock, Batista and Flair was decent (really great for nostalgia), but Orton vs. Foley at Backlash was probably one of the best matches of the year.

Maluco 02-16-2007 10:53 PM

Hardy/Edge...think it could have propelled both men up the card if they had let it gather steam, instead they crushed Hardy and neither really got any benefit (think Edge got it more of different feuds, just made Hardy look weak).

The Raw that Vince brought Hardy back should have started a monumental push for him too, but they just left it, really disappointing. A heel hardy with a few followers could havebeen at least a high midcard threat

FBI mark 02-16-2007 11:35 PM

This is not really a storyline but was an angle set up to be a storyline in which
Tatanka came out and challenged Bobby Lashley. The event happened a couple of months back and was dropped.I felt the WWE really dropped the ball on this potential storyline. The storline could have given us a good fued between Tatanka and Lashley.Although the part I was anticipating was a Tatanka led stable;as Tatanka laid claim to a Nation of Warriors.

I know Tatanka is fired but the concept of a native american type stable would be compelling. The WWE could play it as the revenge seeking tribal thing they were originally going for or my idea of a high rolling casino type heel faction.

Anyone else remember that angle from Smackdown,I think it aired sometime in November.

The Optimist 02-16-2007 11:45 PM

Yeah, that was awkward at first but could have easily built up to something that made me care for Lashley. . .which is hard to do.

Mr. JL 02-16-2007 11:49 PM

RVD/Cena/One Night Stand buildup

Splaya 02-16-2007 11:54 PM

The buildup to this year's Wrestlemania. When HHH went out, it changed things a bit, but still. I think they are really building really well, SO FAR.
