anybody here use guitar pro?

i donno if theres been a thread like this

but i find myself on guitar pro a lot... Either making my own songs or learning some bands songs

its pretty decent, definitely makes you a better guitar player

i use it at school when i dont want to do work because my guitar catches my eye

anybody use it?

I used to goof around with it a little, had some fun trying to write out songs and hear them in cheesy MIDI playback. I never really used it to learn though.

Yeah Guitar Pro 5 has a better sound engine, RSE or something, sounds a bit more realistic then shitty midi.

I didn't mean I use it to learn, it's just easier to see everything and to match notes where they're supposed to go if you have the sheet music right in front of you.

It's easier to make like two guitar parts or guitar/bass etc.

in my opinion at least.

It's also easier to learn a song from a band if you can see it being played right in front of you. Tablature is hard to use if youre not listening to the song youre trying to learn, but Guitar Pro tablature solves that problem.

Huh cool, I'll check out GP5 to see what it sounds like. Yeah, I see what you mean about being able to see it being played. Usually not a problem for me since I have all the songs I like to play on my computer though. :p

I know I know, but specific parts of songs are hard to hear.

It's hard to explain.

Basically,

Looking at the sheet music scrolling by is better than looking at a webpage of a tab.

At least you can see what the author means by what he puts down.

Sometimes tabs are hard to understand.

Yeah, I have Guitar pro 5, but it's shit with how much tab it can fit on the screen. I also downloaded like 3486734985738945 guitar tabs with it.
