children of mana Nintendo DS
so anyone own it or play it? I am thinking of picking it up yet all the online reviews are greatly contrasted. i will read a review that gives it a 4 or 5 and some that give it a 7+. i need some variation from playing castlevania PoR all the time.

is it a traditional turn based rpg or an action adventure game with rpg elements like marvel ultimate allaince?

I have it. Haven't played it much though. Just the first dungeon. So far it's alright. It's not turn based. It's all real time.
You can only shop and manage your items and weapons in town, which is kinda a pain int the ass if you pick up a better weaon or stone. You can have 2 different weapons at a time though. However, there are only 4 weapon types (sword, bow, flail and hammer) and each have only 2 attack styles. Each have pretty different effect, at least. The game allows multiplayer if you're in the same physical area as your frieds (no over the internet wifi, tho). I'd say I'm not disappointed, but they could have definitely done more. |
Secret of Mana was awesome but I haven't liked any of the other Mana games.

ok thanks funky, i will pick it up to give it a try.

I heard it was a big dissapointment.

Basically, what I've heard from people who like the Mana series is it's bad, and boring. Get it only for multiplayer, and even then, expect it to be repetitive.
I own it, and was rather nonplussed by it. I played about 3 levels or so and put it away. It becomes very old, very fast. But I'm not the only one who feels this way. If you want a turnbased game, get Magical Starsign. |
It is utter garbage. I bought it and I hate it. I will never touch this game again. Its the same shit over and over again.
This game is like the secret of mana for retards. |
