Shadow of the Colossus
holy awesome game! you're a dude on a horse in a huge world where there is nobody and you just have get summoned to battle huge dudes. i dont really know the point of this game, but i played it for two hours and all i did was ride the horse around the pretty scenery
The boss fights are way cooler then the scenery, did you see any of those?
One of my favorite games.
A masterpiece. Awesome plot, great graphics. So many things to do and earn. Hoping a sequel comes out.
I got it this past December, but didn't get a chance to play it. Not gonna get to play it till I'm done with school too. :'(
I've been meaning to get this game, but have never gotten the chance. :-\
One of my friends is a total mark for this game, I have never watched the game being played so I don't know why. May try it though.
This is the only game EVER that I have been wowed by the graphics. The idea of just having boss battles may seem abit gay, but I loved it, especially as each has a different way to kill them. I must have spent about 2 hours trying to defeat the final boss, such an epic battle, and such a sad ending too :(
holy cow! hollllly....
i decided to play it with my friend today n we actually figured out how to kill a boss, now we're on the sixth one...prob my favorite game, might even like it more than final fantasy 9. whats ridiculous is that some of the fights are harder to get to than the actual fight is...but still awesome! |
This has to be the best PS2 game I've ever played. Unfortunately, I got stuck on the 9th Colossus, so I still don't know how it ends.
Tip spoilered in black just in case you or anyone else doesn't want to know;
If that's the one I'm thinking of lure it over one of the geysers then shoot it's feet. Took me freakin ages. |
yeah i made my friend beat that one. the next probably harder though, just doesnt take as long
The only bad thing about this game is how easy the last boss is. Such a let down.
I kept losing my grip on the last one, which is why took me for ages.

Probably has a massive schlong and is 12 feet tall.
Twelve and a half feet tall
Is this game exclusive to the PS2?
Yes.
I got stuck on the fish and the wizard. The others were easier but still loads of fun.

BEAT THIS game today! wow! word to the last boss being easy, took like 30 mins prob? i dont know but the one before which we called Abraham took us forever to figure out how to get the last little bit of life out.
but i mean...just...wow. maybe my favorite game, i dont know. i flipped out before the last battle and it was mad intimidating when i saw him for the first time. didnt really hurt you after the beginning though. |
AGRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From the same creator, ICO is another truly awesome and beautiful game. Similar style, but overall very different games.
they're apparently related, the director or whoever commented on that...

Found the article I had read a long time back which explained their connection
http://www.wired.com/science/discove.../2006/03/70286 Wired News: Is there any connection between the worlds of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus? Fumito Ueda: There's no specific connection as far as a timeline. But, both games exist in the same world. WN: But you've said the baby we see at the end of Colossus is the first "baby born with horns" referred to in the backstory of Ico. FU: Yes. I wanted to give some idea to the player, after you complete the game, that there was a connection to Ico. That's why I put in the baby with the horns. If somebody goes all the way through the game, I wanted them to be rewarded. |
