PPV Themes
WWE keeps using run-of-the-mill, bland rock songs for PPV themes that really add nothing to the event. This year's WrestleMania tune Ladies And Gentlemen isn't bad, I guess, but I preferred last year's Big Time. Maybe simply because it was a refreshing change from the usual rock fare.
Name some PPV themes that have really added something to the whole "feel" of the event. Here are some of my faves: Big Time - WrestleMania 22 Highway To Hell - SummerSlam '98 My Way - WrestleMania X-Seven No Chance In Hell - Royal Rumble '99 (which, of course, went on to become Vince McMahon's entrance tune) |
I think it was WM 18 or 19, but LimpBizkit did the PPV song, I think it was called "Crack Addict" I liked that very much.
|
Yeah, that was 19. That was a good one. Wasn't that exclusive to WWE too? Wasn't on The Unquestionable Truth, anyway. Was it a B-side or something?
|
I really don't know about any of that, but I downloaded the song before so I think it was released or whatever outside the WWE.

Summerslam 2002- Truth Company

Mania X-Seven's Limp Bizkit "My Way" was probably my favorite, it just fit nicely...

As for my choice. When it first came out last year I didn't like the Big Time theme at all but it grew on me. A year later. Pretty nice selection. |
Drowing Pool- Tearing Away...WM18?
|
Drowing Pool- Bodies...ECW ONS
|
They also did Bodies for a SummerSlam a few years back...

That one that Shinedown did for Summerslam(?) That was good as well.

I think it was used for the Alliance in general. Good times. Well, not really, but an adequate song.
|
I'm not really thinking of songs that are good songs, more songs that fit/added to the aura of an event.
Whilst some of the theme songs for PPVs may be good songs, a lot of the time they really add nothing. "Bodies" was the theme song for the InVasion PPV (I think)... that was another good song that fit the event, in my opinion. |
Fight Song was the theme of the InVasion PPV. Bodies was the theme for SummerSlam 2001.
"Control" by Puddle Of Mudd for Survivor Series 2001 was a great fit. |
Okay. I'm sure the Alliance were using Bodies before SummerSlam though? Maybe I'm wrong.
|
I remember the Alliance using that as their entrance theme, but I am strictly talking PPV themes.
|
Royal Rumble '99
|
"Deadly Game" was awesome.
|
My Way was actually such a successful theme song for X7 that I still associate it with the event more than anything else. I remember them playing it to close the last Smackdown before Wrestlemania, and getting chills and thinking "This is going to be one damn fine event." And then it was.
|
I'd say My Way is probably my single favourite use of a PPV theme of all time.
|
Also, I consider WrestleMania X-Seven the night that Attitude died, and it was an exceptional event. Attitude sure went out on a high note, and for some reason that song kind of added to the whole climax feel of the event.

For ppv themes, I've been a fan of Godsmack's "The Enemy" and thought that worked pretty well for Summerslam last year. |

That fit the whole McMahon family saga though. Stephanie/Shane slapping Linda. Linda slapping Stephanie/Shane. Vince slapping Torrie's ass.
