Probably a dumb question, but you never know...

When i go to demonoid.com, i see that you can download games and whatnot from different platforms (i.e. PSP, Xbox360, etc.). But these games can only be used on your PC/laptop, right? I just thought that it would be meaningless to be able to download a game that isn't made for the PC, but instead a video gaming system and play it on your PC. Like, what is the dillyo cheerio?

DS 03-12-2007 11:39 AM

For consoles you would download and then burn to a DVD and use that in your modded console (you need a mod chip to play burned games). For the PSP you can just put it on a memory stick and use a special application to play it from the card. The DS I believe you need a special cartridge as well. Not so sure on the DS as I have never bothered with it.

All those games can't be played on the PC though. They are merely downloaded and then moved to whatever you downloaded it for.

OK ok, cool. So i have a 360. Do you or anyone else know where i can get this mod chip so i can play these games? I will still rep you, DS. You are alright with me :y:

How ironic.

BTW Johnny, some can be played on your computer via emulator. Not 360, but other (older) systems.

TerranRich 03-14-2007 01:41 PM

Mmm, sweet sweet SNES roms. :)

Bad Company 03-14-2007 10:00 PM

You dont need a modchip on the xbox 360, you just need to flash the drive firmware, but unless your xbox is out of warranty, I wouldn't do it.

Johnny Vegas 03-15-2007 02:57 PM

And how exactly do we go about doing this, Bad Co.?

Where can i find this exciting feature???

Blitz 03-15-2007 04:51 PM

Pretty easy. Just search google for emulators and you should find all you need. As long as you have a decent computer, you should be able to play everything from NES to N64.

You can find roms of games on any torrent site, or individual rom sites. I use romhustler.net.

TerranRich 03-15-2007 11:15 PM

The best site for emulators and roms is www.romhustler.net

A lot of site are bullshit, and a lot of others don't have certain games due to copyrights and whatnot. RomHustler has everything.

Ah, I think I've posted about it before in the vg forum, try a search, I'm mad lazy, and between flights so is running out :D

Eventually, you will be able to play XBox and PSP games on the PC via emulator. Emulators are almost always a couple generations behind (Especially since Sony tanked Bleem, and they weren't even breaking the law), but I remember they had a coupel of XBox emulators in the works...

While we're on this topic, does anyone know of a decent Saturn emulator? I'm using Satourne, but I can't seem to get it to work.

Vietnamese Crippler 03-18-2007 02:30 AM

I didn't even know there was a Saturn emulator :o
