Do games scare you?
As much as Bio Hazard (RE2) did to this guy?

lol at a japanese guy saying bullocks.
I don't think games can ACTUALLY scare you outside of the "jump out" surprises. But the atmosphere, and anticipation of said surprises can put your nerves on edge. RE4 is a prime example. |
Someone said it here recently and reminded me, but the last stage of Manhunt was creepy as hell.
|
F.E.A.R had its moments. But nothing like "omg I cant sleep at night" or screaming.
|
that has to be the most retardedly pussified man ever:D
|
RE2 made me look over my shoulder a couple of times. Silent Hill 1 and 2 creeped me out somewhat.
|
Splatterhouse 2 scared the living hell outta me first time I played it.
And RE4 had me pretty creeped out at times. Just going through that castle and hearing the creepy chanting... Oh and yeah, last stage of Manhunt. Going after Pigsy in the dark was fucked up. |
LOL He says wanker too.
|
The Clock Tower games were nerve racking also.
|
Also, ROFL at the video.
|
I think the bollocks and wanker parts were just approximations by whoever translated it.
|
Had to be staged.
|
Resident Evil 2 use to scare me when it first come out... I never had time to complete it though... I was actually thinking about getting it out and playing it sometime soon, but watching that video made me think... What's up with that big dude smashing through walls?
Is he easy to kill coz I hate games where there's the impossible-to-kill types where it takes ages to figure out how to beat them. Also, that video was pretty lol, but after a while it come across as really scripted. |
I played Doom 3 on mushrooms once. That scared the shit out of me.
|
Silent Hill 3
|
lol priceless, resi evil 1 scared the shit out of me when i was younger...
won't touch f.e.a.r coz little girl horrors scare shit out of me |

The only time was in Alone in the Dark.
It was really late, and the Game flashed to a screenshot of a bleeding eyeless corpse in a coffin. |
Oh and playing Doom 3 in a dark room, late at night, with candles for atmosphere and hearing the laughing and chanting noises in your head after you turn the comp off just made me feel weird.
The game itself had pretty scary moments, and jump-outs |
JUST finished playing Silent Hill for Playstation and that game creeped the fuck out of me. Resident Evil 2 is equally as creepy. I am going to play Resident Evil 2 tonight.
|
Some parts of Silent Hill 2 weren't exactly scary, just very *very* disturbing. Like, making you question whether you were seeing things, that sort of stuff. Ugh.
Also Project Zero (not sure if it has a different name in the States - the one where you play a little girl who uses an enchanted camera to exorcise ghosts) had it's moments, definitely. |
the suffering is a sick ass game
|
The only games that ever really scared me were Silent Hill and RE2, and that was only when I first played them. I haven't been scared by anything since. Silent Hill 4 creeped me out a little bit when the apartment went to hell, but when I started getting attacked by wheelchairs that went away pretty quick.
|
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH I was not cautious!"
rofl |
Naw. But I've been known to get very immersed in a game before.
Gears of War immersed me, for example. |
The Silent Hill franchise just freaks me out...no matter what game it is...I remember playing the first one at like midnight with a few friends...It was some part where you were in a locker room and a damn cat shoots out of one of the lockers..It scared the shit out of me and everyone in the room..
Sometimes even non scary games are scary...its just that quick moment...Like God of War in the very first stage when that boss comes crashing through the ship as your walking down the hallway... |
The only major one was Condemned: Criminal Origins. That' game was just really dark and had some creppy music.
However, I do like how Manhunt opens up by saying the best way to play is in the dark with the door closed and the volume turned all the way up. Well, something along those lines. |
Max Payne 1
The first time Max is in the V enduced dream, and everything is like slow motion...you hear a baby cry, find your way to its room, and the letter blocks move around. That part really did make the hairs on the back of my neck stick up. Lots of games have "BOO" moments where something jumps out and scares you...Doom 3 and FEAR are perfect examples. Those are not really scary...just scare moments. |
That one game where you can only see the ghosts you have to kill or whatever through the camera.
Its fucking brutal when you hear sounds and you have to look and then that thing is RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE! Never finished that game as a matter of fact. |

That part was REALLY fucked up. But I think the part with Adam was what got me creeped out big time. |
That dude was nuts
|
I hate clowns as it is, so Adam really did creep the fuck out of me.
|
