Out of curiosity
Just out of curiosity, how many of you have had floor tickets to an event where Hulk Hogan won a world title?
|
Can't say that I have. When I was a kid I never had a way to find out when they were coming to town. Not that it matters, I don't think he ever won any titles in the Nor-Cal area. Could be wrong tho...
|
Ok, so I'm better than HuracanRana.
|
I've seen like 5 world title changes, not on the floor though.
Seeing Benoit winning at Mania 20 in nosebleeds > Seeing Hogan winning any title in front row. BTW, I've seen: Bret Hart's final WWF Championship win (SummerSlam 97) Brock Lesnar's first WWE Championship win (SummerSlam 2002) Shawn Michaels winning the Elimination Chamber for the WHC (Survivor Series 2002) Chris Benoit winning the WHC (Mania 20) Batista winning the WHC (Survivor Series 2006) |

Ooooooooo, you are making me so steamed. You leaving Boogen and DDP out of this as well. And how can you compare Hulk Hogan to some vanilla midget. I mean, Hogan might be a backstabing son of a bitch, but at least he has more charisma in his bald spot than Benoit has in his whole body.

However, at least he didn't have to suck dick to get a championship. He got it for years of hard work. Hogan got it just because Vince had and still has a big man fetish. (I suppose it would be 'bear fetish' or something, I'm not too up on gay fetishes.) |

As for Benoit not sucking dick to get a championship, he certain blew ass as a champion. |
Well, at least his move arsenal is deeper than weak punching someone, pointing at them, lifting his foot and falling on his ass. And sometimes a bodyslam thrown in.

Ok, back to the topic.
Never seen any title change live. But I did see something just as good. Smackdown before WM19, Angle vs Lesnar. The strong rumor was that, because of Angle's BROKEN FRICKEN' NECK, he woudl drop the title to Lesnar, who would defend agaisnt Benoit at WM. What I got to see instead was Angle doing the switch with his brother and then handing Lesnar only his second pinfall loss. Being a huge Angle mark (hell he wasn't nuts at the time) and never having liked Lesnar, I was literally rolling in the aisle at that (I had an aisle seat and did the rolling just so that I could later say I did it.) I know it didn't come across this way on TV but the crowd LOVED the swerve. I think they loved the non-televised portion even more, where Lesnar F-5ed Heyman, and then fought off an attack by Big Show and A-Trian before Undertaker hit the ring. Anyways, seeing Angle retain the title when I expected him to lose it was just as good as a title win for me. |
