How did Edge originally lose his MITB spot?
 

I mean, I was watching Raw, but not that closely. How did he lose the spot that he won back? And what was the point of having him lose it if he was going to win it back?

It was revenge for screwing Orton basically.

I kinda figured that had something to do with it, but how would Orton have the swing to take Edge out of a match that he had already qualified for?

Edge went to McMahon and had him book a match between Lashley and Orton and if Orton didn't appear because of professionally jealousy or something like that then he should lose his spot in the MiTB.

Fast forward to the next Raw Randy said he talked to McMahon and because they failed Edge lost his spot and to get it back he must win the MiTB Battle Royal.

I think that's it but I was a little sleepy at the time.
