People, understand THE UNDERTAKER IS NOT GOING TO RETIRE ANYTIME SOON

This is not a long post, but I continually year, after year read about The Undertaker retiring. WTF? He has YEARS left, he's not going away so soon. Jim Ross recently said he has never herd him speak of retirement and predicted that he would be around for MANY YEARS to come. So shut the fuck up about it.

Fignuts 03-24-2007 11:06 PM

Yeah, I mentioned in another thread that he is in amazing shape.

The One 03-24-2007 11:17 PM

He's retiring tomorrow. :shifty:

Kane Knight 03-24-2007 11:52 PM

Next year: The same thread is posted by someone else.

Champion of Europa 03-24-2007 11:54 PM

Yeah, Undertaker has hit like a second prime or something. He's consistently pulling out good matches now.

The One 03-24-2007 11:54 PM

Kane will retire before Taker will. Bank on it.

El Fangel 03-25-2007 12:05 AM

Can I put money in the bank on that bet?

94 SVT Cobra 03-25-2007 12:07 AM

Outside of shawn micheals and even then he left for a while, undertaker is the only guy whos been around for nearly EVERY era WWE has had outside of the begining of hulkamania, but even then, he was around for it towards the middle and end. His charcter is not so well known outside the walls of wrestling like hogan, but anyone withb half a brain knows the undertaker is OLD SCHOOL with out looking like an OLD FOOL. He seriously has hit some second prime or something.

Pepsi Man 03-25-2007 01:11 AM

Taker is old, and there are times when I've hoped for him to retire in some ways (I'm a huge Undertaker mark), but he does still pull off good stuff here and there. That, and I love getting to see him live, regardless. :o

BigDaddyCool 03-25-2007 02:23 AM

Is Undertaker ever going to come out with a book? And if he does, he better right it himself.

I mean a real autobiography, not that bullshit Kane did.

El Fangel 03-25-2007 02:42 AM

Yeah, an autobiography would be sweet, I read The Rocks a few times, I always enjoyed reading the parts when he started training.

M-A-G 03-25-2007 04:56 AM

My money is still on within the next 5 years.

addy2hotty 03-25-2007 07:33 AM

I didn't know this

Kane Knight 03-25-2007 10:43 AM

Anyone hear the news? Undertaker's retiring after wrestlemania!

RP 03-25-2007 10:49 AM

Isnt Undertaker dead?

Blue Demon 03-25-2007 10:50 AM

I mean i don't mind keeping Undertaker around as long as he's doing what he's doing now, and only having matches once in a while. Seems like he's basically semi-retired.

Rammsteinmad 03-25-2007 10:52 AM

I don't mind the Undertaker's in-ring skill, but I hate his gimmick and how every fued he is in is booked the same.

Plus the fact that he rarely does a clean job anymore...

In my opinion he should go back to the American Badass. He was more fun to watch when he was a believable character. As an unstoppable Deadman it's just plain boring now.

There. Fixed.

Edit: Well, I hate the American Bad Ass gimmick, but other than that, fixed.

Kane Knight 03-25-2007 11:22 AM

You left in rarely?

Mostly for the sake of argument. There may be one or two matches over the span of his career where he jobbed cleanly. Most would consider his SummerSlam '98 loss to Stone Cold Steve Austin clean. So uhhhhhhhh, just find one more.

Kane Knight 03-25-2007 01:46 PM

I can't.

I am the average wrestling fan. Until you mentioned '98, I didn't remember the Undertaker dated back that far.

redoneja 03-25-2007 01:55 PM

I can only think of:

vs Austin at Summerslam 1998
vs Lesnar in Hell in a Cell at No Mercy 2003
vs Angle at No Way Out 2006
vs Khali at Judgement Day 2006

Mr. Nerfect 03-25-2007 08:01 PM

I hate the current gimmick. I mean, when I heard he was returning to his darker roots, I got pretty excited. I loved his Ministry of Darkness character, and this theme music at this time was really cool. I was pretty hyped. Then he returned to the Death March in a leotard with a new hat. :|

I'd welcome another change of character.

Taker wrestles so far and in between that he gives his body time to rest, so he could stretch his career out some. I still think that WrestleMania 25 could mark the end of his career, though. After that he might become a Hulk Hogan-style competitor, only showing up once a year, or something.

You know that gimmick of his back in 2002? That's the one he should go back to, dunno if you've seen all the 'from the vault' matches lately but they keep showing Undertaker matches from back when he was Undisputed champion, I totally forgot about that gimmick of his but that's his best imo.

Rammsteinmad 03-25-2007 09:08 PM

That was when JR use to call him "Booger Red".

Mr. Nerfect 03-26-2007 01:54 AM

I never liked the "Big Evil" character at the time (or "Booger Red", as Rammsteinmad affectionately remembers), but in hindsight, I can really appreciate it.

OverTaker 03-26-2007 02:19 AM

 *GONG* I WILL NEVER REST IN PIECES!!!!

best look: Ministry

best (most entertaining) character: Booger Red / Red Devil / (heel bikertaker)

Maria xXx 03-26-2007 02:59 AM

Undertaker must be pretty old now. But if Ric Flair is still wrestling then idk.

KillerWolf 03-26-2007 03:03 AM

he seems to be in better shape now than he has since - i'd say about '99.

Jeritron 03-26-2007 03:15 AM

Yea he seems to be in better shape than 99 actually, I'd say. Maybe not because of age, but he looks to be in better ring shape. Can't really tell exactly what shape he was in from 2000-2005 since he wrestled in baggy clothes. Up til 99 he was in great shape but didn't seem as cut and trim.

Jeritron 03-26-2007 03:16 AM

His stamina and mobility in the ring seems to maybe be lessened, though it doesn't look that he's lost much of a step. He can still hit the notes and go the distance. When comparing the 4 main eventers this week, maybe not as well as Shawn or Cena may be able to, but certainly impressive for a guy his size and age. Definitely in better ring shape than the World Champion.
Batista will surely blow up before Taker does on sunday.

Stickman 03-26-2007 01:50 PM

This gets brought up anytiem he's in a storyline.

You reckon he can still leap the top rope?

Jeritron 03-26-2007 03:47 PM

I know he can. He's done it recently

Well he did beat cancer.... I'd say he's got some momentum built up.

Kane Knight 03-26-2007 07:56 PM

That was SO not a clean win though.
