G4 Network Set To Film Lucha Libre Pilot
The G4 Network will be filming a lucha libre pilot in Tijuana, Mexico on 3/30. The show will be titled "Viva La Lucha" and will be a Lucha Libre show for an English speaking audience. The goal of the network is obviously to attract the 18-49 male demographic.
Some of the bigger names set to be apart of the pilot are Juventud Guerrera, Nicho El Millionaro (former Psicosis), L.A. Park (former La Parka), and Rey Mysterio Sr. The Human Tornado from Wrestling Society X will also be involved. Chavo Guerrero, Sr. and Larry Rivera will be doing the announcing. The taping will be free and take place at Tecate Foro/Palenque at Parque Morelos. WCW was aired on the same network that brought us shows like Babylon 5. WWE aired on a channel that does Trek. It used to be on a channel that aired Hiighlander concurrently (Their current USA home). TNA is now on that same channel that airs Star Trek.
ECW is on the Sci Fi Channel. This will be on the same channel that gives us even more Star Trek. ...Wow. I guess wrestling really is for nerds. |

Gotta be honest, I got CMLL and AAA on my satellite, and watched it regularly for a while. Wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be and ended up not watching it anymore. Only wrestlers that interested me were Ultimo Dragon, Dr. Wagner, Hector Garza, to a small extent, Mystico.

It could be good, but I won't get my hopes up. Knowing them they'll get the fags from X Play to commentate.
