Where's the WM Cena Bashing?

I was all excited to come here Monday after WM and read all about how terrible Cena is but no, there's very little.

So did he have a decent match with HBK? Was he booed out of the building? Come on people, I sure as hell didn't watch it so let me know.

Reavant 04-02-2007 01:18 PM

I think everyone is so sick of him they cant even draw up the effort to even talk about him

Savio 04-02-2007 01:23 PM

the match sucked it was one big rest hold

Jura 04-02-2007 01:43 PM

I think it was expected that he would win so people are tired of the same old routine. If you think about it, WM23 may be lackluster to us but to people who genuinely like Cena it was probably really good.

Corkscrewed 04-02-2007 01:44 PM

We are all dead inside.

BigDaddyCool 04-02-2007 02:09 PM

I thought the match was good...well it could have been a lot worst. The crowd in the bar I was in was way into it.

SammyG 04-02-2007 02:20 PM

Anyone who says the match sucked is an idiot. It was a very, very good match.

Stickman 04-02-2007 02:24 PM

Did Cena get booed?

SammyG 04-02-2007 02:26 PM

Kinda. was not as bad as Chicago. he got a loud pop when he won.

^ That sums up my feelings pretty much.

The match overall was okay. Although, it ended as every Cena match does with SuperCena 'locking on' the STFU dead center of the ring and going over.

Mercury Bullet 04-02-2007 02:43 PM

And the heat on Cena was not nearly as bad as last year, but he got it through most of the match.

Kane Knight 04-02-2007 02:58 PM

Fuck Cena. Looks like another year or so of notwatching this crap.

RGWhat316 04-02-2007 03:06 PM

Being there live, Cena did have quite a bit of heat, even though I don't think it was as much as Chicago last year. But I was pissed and thought for sure that they would give Shawn one more run with the belt, but nope. Seems we are just stuck with Cena no matter what happens.

Stickman 04-02-2007 03:09 PM

Basically, HHH will beat Cena when he feels like it. Until then, Superman lives on.

RottingFreak 04-02-2007 03:10 PM

Wow this guy has won three wrestlemania main events in a row? Must be a record... No wonder I no longer watch.

Like when you complain about how there are too many WWII games. after awhile it's just like, yah, you know:shifty:

Mercury Bullet 04-02-2007 03:11 PM

I think the WWE (or just Vince) is so desperate for the next Rock/Austin/Hogan they aren't going to wait for one to develop, they are just going to manufacture him and they've picked Cena to be this person. Only problem is, Cena mowing down legend after legend is only making him more resented, not more popular.

Blitz 04-02-2007 03:14 PM

Cena was booed in every video package he was in, booed when he came out, booed during the match. When he won, huge pop.

Match itself was very good.

RottingFreak 04-02-2007 03:17 PM

The fans probably thought at the end "Hey we bought the tickets, we might as well enjoy the ending or at least act like we do!"

And the Smarks will fellate him for it, even if Triple H wins with a finger poke and armpit noises.

Yeah, it's like Stan and Kyle after the 8 millionth time Kenny's been killed.

(Both half assed/sarcastic)

Stan: oh my God, Cena beat another legend with the STFU.... :|

Kyle: you bastard... :|

The MAC 04-02-2007 05:00 PM

man, michaels has real changed.Back in the day he would refuse to put over anyone... n this jobbing at mania to a useless prick like cena.

Shaggy 04-02-2007 05:07 PM

I was really dissapointed in the match...

The opening was good...the middle was horrible...the end was pretty cool..

Of course with Cena winning...I was pissed

To be fair, Cena/JBL didn't go on last...

but other than that, Hogan's the only other one to win three consecutive Mania main events, having done it twice.

Innovator 04-02-2007 05:43 PM

First twenty minutes of the match i liked, even though HBK seemed to be moving a little slow, then I stopped liking it once I saw that Cena was gonna win again.

His entrance was the biggest cheap pop attempt ever, driving a Ford Mustang into the arena.

And he only got about half a pop with that. The rest booed the shit out of him.

Innovator 04-02-2007 05:58 PM

Fans who pay the price for a WM ticket can usually see through the bullshit

JT 04-02-2007 06:23 PM

Actually I do want to bash Cena for winning last night...but what can I say that hasn't been said already?

It was a very, very almost decent match

M-A-G 04-02-2007 07:41 PM

I honestly didn't know what they were going for last night and it looked like they didn't know either. It wasn't bad or anything but it was better off not being the last match on the card.

This would have been perfect to go on two matches before the Taker/Batista match. It would have sent the crowd home happy with Taker getting the win, and not a 25/75 split for Cena winning.

Mr. Nerfect 04-02-2007 10:43 PM

Yeah, I don't care enough about Cena to complain anymore. The guy's just bland as he is. Fucking bland. They try so hard with him, and it just doesn't work. He's a natural heel, but until he pisses off Vince, or they get desperate, it's not going to happen.

I actually don't think Triple H could take the title off Cena whenever he wanted. Cena is good friends with Vince, and one of his pet projects. Triple H would need to make a pretty convincing case to Vince to have Project: Cena aborted.

Juan 04-02-2007 11:37 PM

I think the match itself was good, but I'm just sick of seeing Cena win all the damn time. It's been 2 years and he's lost twice....

Corkscrewed 04-03-2007 12:42 AM

BTW, the worst part was that they once again played the "overcoming the odds" card for the 948th time. On WWE.com, there's an article where Cena talks about how this win means so much to him, and he's explicitly quoted saying:
Quote:

When WWE.com caught up with the champion moments later, he was still emotional.
“The past two years have been very difficult for me, because even with all the momentum I have, I always go into the big one as the underdog,” he said.
Seriously... WTF?! How can they expect any wrestling fan who watches semi-regularly to believe that crap? It's ridiculous how blatantly overselling this is.

Oh well. What can we do?

The One 04-03-2007 12:45 AM

If you're looking for Cena bashing, trying looking in 2005, when people thought the collective voice of wrestling fans mattered.

The MAC 04-03-2007 05:28 AM

IF CENA WINS WE RIOT! We need more of these signs at shows.
