Do you mind Hogan's politicking?

Do you or do you not mind Hogan's politicking?

On one side, yeah, it's pretty much bullshit that he politics his way into matches and wins. But on the other side, he's done so much in the industry that maybe, just maybe, he's earned it.

So, what's your vote?

Pepsi Man 04-05-2007 07:21 PM

No. You have to realize the guy wears red and yellow ring attire.

M-A-G 04-05-2007 07:22 PM

The key words are that 'he's DONE' things. Things that don't matter anymore.

Alf Email 04-05-2007 07:23 PM

Yes. If he cared about the industry, he wouldn't do it. He would at least be willing to put people over sometimes. He has contributed a lot to wrestling but just as much as Ric Flair for example so that's no reason for it.

KayfabeMan 04-05-2007 07:42 PM

No. I do not.

Bottom line is, everyone "politicks" - just he has more power when he does is all. It's the same shit from the bottom of the card to the top. I couldn't care less either way.

Übermensch 04-05-2007 07:45 PM

The man wrestles once or twice a year now. It doesn't bother me.

Juan 04-05-2007 07:55 PM

I think the problem with Hogan is that he still thinks that he's the business, when in fact, the business passed him up years ago.

He should be using his legend status to give something back to the business that made him rich, instead of constantly putting himself over.

SammyG 04-05-2007 08:00 PM

He kinda has a right to be politicking. He made wrestling what it is today.

Fignuts 04-05-2007 08:02 PM

Nope

Grew up watching Hogan, but grew to not care for him when i got older. Then I went to Wrestlemania X-8 and that all changed. Hogan mark for life now.

M-A-G 04-05-2007 08:02 PM

Again, the keywords are all past tense. Do you care about everything that happened 20 or so years ago?

Fignuts 04-05-2007 08:11 PM

I really don't give a shit if what he did is all in the past, M-A-G.

Nothing you can possibly say, can change the impact WM 18 had on me.

Basically yeah, that's my take.

My problem is people listen to this fuck.

BigDaddyCool 04-05-2007 09:30 PM

No, I do not mind him politicking. I preffer it. Someone needs to keep the deserving down. The only time I don't like it is when he is holding down the cliq.

Theo Dious 04-05-2007 10:22 PM

I think I begin to take issue with it somewhere in the midst of his WCW days. Yeah, there was a time when he was such a moneymaker that he had earned the right to use his stroke, but demanding creative control and top paydays in today's day and age... he is no longer worth that.

But he DOES wear the red and yellow.

The One 04-05-2007 10:27 PM

I hate him, and while everyone does it, it's easy to condem someone you dislike...so...yeah I mind.

Theo Dious 04-05-2007 11:54 PM

Only the Kliq can politic.

redoneja 04-05-2007 11:57 PM

Nope.

Rock did a great job of making Hogan look worth a crap again, didn't he?

The One 04-06-2007 02:55 AM

Tovo's Official Stance...

Hogan sucked in the 80's
Hogan sucked in the 90's
Hogan sucks today.

M-A-G 04-06-2007 02:55 AM

For those who don't mind, if I somehow cure cancer in all its forms, does that give me the right to be a dick to whoever I want just because I did something good for everyone?

The One 04-06-2007 02:56 AM

And WrestleMania X-Eight may have been a wonderful "moment" for people who gave a flying rat's ass, but for me, it was just The Rock looking at Hogan.

I don't think it would matter IF Hogan didn't have that creative control clause in his contract. I don't think Triple H had that (not positive if he officially did or not, though the unofficial clause was/is fucking Steph). If it wasn't for Vince giving Hogan that clause, the politicing wouldn't be even HALF as bad as far as impact is concerned. It's another thing entirely if you actually can say "I want to beat Shawn Michaels cleanly in the center of the ring without him getting a lick of offense and then pose for an hour afterwards, period," and your surperiors not being able to do a damn thing to stop him legally.

It actually gives you the right to impale babies on street corners.

Just HAVING that clause in there is politicking. You think it was Vince's idea to give him that?

I would say I love you, but I don't want to give you the wrong idea.

Only if you wear red and yellow.

Ever since he hit WCW, fuck Hogan and his backstage circle jerk.

Gerard 04-06-2007 02:23 PM

A lot of the top wrestlers used it including bible thumper boy michaels, who somehow thinks he has the right to cry like a little bitch for being on the receiving end of what he used to dish out. :wtf:

Obviously the buck stops with vince so he's really to blame for letting it get as far as it did.

Oh right, name ONE TIME when Michaels's politicking damaged the product.

:shifty: :| Besides that!!!

Gerard 04-06-2007 02:47 PM

Hey, I think the screwjob did more to help them than hurt them. Sure, they lost Bret to WCW. WCW mis-used him (big surprise) while the Mr. McMahon character was born and took the WWF into arguably it's biggest boom ever.

Anybody Thrilla 04-06-2007 05:02 PM

I hated seeing him go over Muhammad Hassan, Randy Orton, and to a lesser extent, Shawn Michaels for absolutely no reason. Could've helped those guys out (not so much Michaels) big time.

Alf Email 04-06-2007 05:08 PM

Yeah, I mean every wrestler politicks but Hogan just gets everything. It accomplishes nothing for Hogan to show up for a month and go over up and coming wrestlers then disappear when he could've put them over and helped them out big time. God, I fucking hate Hogan.

M-A-G 04-06-2007 05:13 PM

Seriously. Imagine if Michaels had defeated Hogan that night at SummerSlam. Michaels had a match at the next PPV; Hogan didn't. Michaels match was with young, up-and-comer Chris Masters. Imagine if Michaels lost to Masters that night, Masters becomes the guy who beat not just Shawn freakin' Michaels, but Shawn Michaels the guy who beat Hogan. You got yourself a new player. But hindsight and all that.

Anybody Thrilla 04-06-2007 05:17 PM

Now I hate Hogan even more for hypothetically holding down Chris Masters!
