Uh, WHAT? (RAW Related)
So I'm watching RAW, in Italy, a non-English speaking country, and they have Todd Grisham announcing the wrestlers IN ENGLISH. What the hell is the point? The house mic should be used for the native language.

|
Actually, the Chain Gang Sign "I Member Chain Gang" tells me that the Average Itallian speaks English better than your average Cena fan.
Besides, when a band goes on tour, they don't translate their song lyrics (usually). Not to mention, they still have to present it for the Americans on TV. |
LOL at the "I Member Chain Gang" comment...
As far as the band goes, it's not translated because that's what people are used to hearing. WWE translates everything as far as I know, including introductions. And of course they have to present to for Americans on TV, BUT there's no point to them piping it on TV in the first place. The commentators always sum up everything the announcer says in about 10 times the time. I consider them there for the live audience, not for people at home. |
Hey! The Diva Fashion Show host did it in Italian. :shifty:
|
English is taught at schools in Italy so most will have a good grasp without being perfect. Apart from the name, the other stuff isn't really that important anyway.
|
They would understand English in Italy, but I kind of agree. They could have had two announcers. Like they do in most European events.
|
Other countries and languages are dumb. learn American folks, or get bombed.
|
Shut up retard
|
For Americans who aren't aware of anything outside their own country -- most people in Italy, France, Spain etc. will be able to speak English. As long as they've had a first and second tier education.
|
I am completely aware that "most" people there speak English, I just find it dumb to not do it in the native language.

Does it really matter, it was a terrible show and I'd be pissed if I bought a ticket to it.

Those fan's loved the show. Probably because they don't scour the internet and bitch about bad booking. Either way I highly doubt they cared, and from their responses and level of excitement I'm assuming they had a great time and would love to have WWE in their town as often as most of us do. I think this discussion is Exhibit A of us internet fans caring too much about things that don't matter.

If true, should they have not blown the roof off cheering for Cena? |

Yeah, that's kind of the flaw in your logic. It's more likely that Italian fans were more excited by the presence of a TV taping. But hey, why let liklihoods get in the way? |
That wasn't my logic at all. You assumed that I was implying that all fans are smarks because they are tame.
I simply was saying that those fans loved the show regardless. Had nothign to do with the smark to mark population in the crowd. Rather that those fans were pretty appreciative and happy compared to the jaded and tame american fans. By pointing out that it's probably because they don't bitch about booking etc., I was adressing the fact that they were enjoying things that people on here flame, and didn't seem phased by the language being used by a commentator in their presence which of course people on here take notice to it. Notice the "either way" transitional statement when I change sentences and talk about how they had a great time regardless. But hey, why let literary elements get in the way of jumping on an argument and being a wiseass with false assertions? |

But don't let that stop you. |
I must say, North American fans really do suck compared to European fans. This goes for any sports. Hell, Europeans can sing non stop for 90 minutes of 0-0 soccer (football...whatever). In North AMerican fans just sit on their hands unless somebody scores, hits a home run, or gets the last basket of a basketball game. The same goes for rasslin'

Or does your response just make no sense at all and is just you sucking again? Or is this whole thing just a shoot on KK's wiseass question phrases in every post? What? |
I mean your post was pretty straight forward, you quoted mine and assumed what I was saying, and when I shot back you kinda just gave the worst response I've ever seen since it was half a claim of not falsely criticzing what I was saying, and half a claim of the opposite. Either way it sucked.

You've gone more and more towards not making sense of late, so I shouldn't be surprised. |
I wasn't aware that a blatant false criticism wasn't straight forward because it had a mocking bahgawd thrown in there.
Whatever dude, I must be losing it as I don't make much sense of late, I think you suck is all, and I'm sure that makes sense. Cheerio. |
