Who or what is atmosphere? I won't speak poorly of someone I've never heard.

Atmosphere is a group out of Minnesota consisting of Slug (the MC) and Ant (the producer). It's the most down to earth rap you ever want to hear in your life.

And it's not like they're just a MySpace group or anything. You'll find clips of them on The Jimmy Kimmel Show there. I heard one song then I went and bought everything available.

I recommend "Say Hey There" as a great starting point for catching the general gist of it all whilst remaining somewhat current.

OK, "Say Hey There" isn't one of the songs now, but you can still see the video for it on the page. All of the songs are good, though. Every. Single. One.

I just started getting into Atmosphere a little while back. I've got "You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having" and "God Loves Ugly." Definitley impressed with what they have to offer.

Two great ones, there. You need to get The Lucy Ford LP. Love it to death. Also, Seven's Travels is great. IT'S ALL GREAT.

If you guys like Atmosphere you should check out Brother Ali. I made a thread about him earlier. I'm pretty sure Slug (the MC of Atmosphere) has done work with Brother Ali, and I think Ant (the producer of Atmosphere) lays beats for Brother Ali. So if you dig the sound of Atmosphere you probably will enjoy Brother Ali.
