Mims-This Is Why I'm Hot

Arguably the worst song in the history of the universe.

road doggy dogg 04-22-2007 04:49 AM

Add me to last.fm you piece of shit.

Blitz 04-22-2007 04:51 AM

'tis done.

road doggy dogg 04-22-2007 04:57 AM

Hot. I've been listening to TLE pretty much exclusively the past month or so. They are incredible.

Also, I haven't heard the song in question in this topic.

Blitz 04-22-2007 04:59 AM

Be glad for that.

Skippord 04-22-2007 06:31 AM

This is why I'm hot (x16)

Anybody Thrilla 04-22-2007 02:12 PM

There are worse songs, but not too many.

I thought about doing a parody song called "This is Why She's Hot" where the hook would go "she's hot when I'm drunk, she ain't when I'm not, this is why, this is why, this is why she's hot".

SammyG 04-22-2007 02:25 PM

Terrible song. I'm hot cuz I'm fly, u ain't cuz ur not, this is why, this is why, this is why I'm hott! But for some reason it's on my ipod...

Funky Fly 04-22-2007 05:52 PM

I call this latest trend in rap "Lazy Rap" because you could swap out whoever did the song and put some random person you grab off the street in the studio and the song will sound exactly the same.

Also, I hate these latest batch of crappy, lazy beats. They sound like they were put together in 15 minutes on a little kid's keyboard.

Kris P Lettus 04-22-2007 06:10 PM

Hip Hop has been dying a slow death for the past ten years..

Supreme Olajuwon 04-22-2007 09:05 PM

It's a generic rhyme scheme using old generic rap cliches and a generic chorus placed over a very generic beat

it's not the worst song ever, it's just a very boring song

That's been going on for ages, though. You might have one or two quality artists, but the idea of producing some quick and lazy shit that anyone could have done has been going on for ages.

Funky Fly 04-23-2007 12:43 AM

Yeah, but now it's oversaturated the market. Before you could still avoid the crap. Now the crap is smeared all over evertything like stale Hershey's syrup on ice cream.

SammyG 04-23-2007 01:55 AM

Who? Mike JOOOOOOONES

Funky Fly 04-23-2007 01:59 AM

He sucks too.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-23-2007 02:19 AM

Mike Jones isn't the best rapper out there but he's definitely better than the lazy rappers.

Anybody Thrilla 04-23-2007 02:34 PM

Definitely is a strong word.
I SAID

Anybody Thrilla 04-23-2007 02:35 PM

Hmm. That didn't take too much effort.

Supreme Olajuwon 04-23-2007 03:13 PM

It probably didn't take much effort but neither did Run DMC reciting Aerosmith's lyrics and that's considered the most important song in rap history.

So I'd say it's a bit of pick and choose.

SammyG 04-23-2007 05:42 PM

OK, but how many other songs did you hear those exact same lyrics in thereafter?

By who?

SammyG 04-23-2007 05:55 PM

Mike Jones just likes making his point clear.

that's fine but that wasn't the point I was trying to make

All I'm saying is at least Mike Jones attempts to incorporate word play and diverse rhyme schemes into his songs. He still might not be a good rapper but he's still above Mims and all the other lazy shit.

This song is just another reason why I can't stand rap. Most of the stuff I hear nowadays is just egotistical guys who are brand new on the scene, yet saying how great they are. Songs like that, and the guy that goes by Rich Boy, is just way too egotistical.

Do you listen to rap at all?

There is good shit out there, but there is a lot of crap to sift through first.

I happen to enjoy Run DMC quite a bit. I don't think I'm above anyone, most of the people in this thread probably have quite a bit more knowledge of the subject than I, but I was just wondering by whom it was considered to be the most important rap song of all time?

Funky Fly 04-25-2007 03:26 PM

It's not really a great song. It's considered important because it was the first rap song to really be accepted in the mainstream.

KayfabeMan 04-25-2007 04:24 PM

What about Lil' Jon? Who sounds like he's having a telephone conversation while recording his supposed "songs".
