Is it just me, but where the fuck are all the main event heels at ? seriously

Is this the reason that WWE is, at least imo, the least entertaining it's been in 10 years ? Look at the champions right now WWE-Cena, I-C Santino, World Tag, Hardys, WH Taker, US Benoit, WWE tag D&D. You can't have all face champions, it just does'nt work, and no one is interested in seeing face v. face all the time. The best heel in the company HHH is on the shelf and will probally return as a face, why ? Most of the guys that are heels now are'nt even ready to be ME. Don't get me wrong I like Finlay, Orton, MVP and Kennedy, but does anyone seriously buy theese guys as ME heels right now? Hell even Edge had a almost face promo last week. IMO Heels are what make the show, if the marks have no one to hate and the smarks have no one to identify with ( cause lets face it smarks always identify with heels, unless his name is HBK) then the show is in more trouble than ever. And message to Vince, if your gonna be the top heel in your own company, you have to fued with someone who has one ounce of charisma, no one is buying Lashley as a top face.

Aside from the fact that your chart is as confusing as FUCK to read and figure out (not totally your fault, I know), you actually make a good point.

The thing of it is is that the WWE is not only trying to shove people down our throats, but they are now trying to force us to like them AS the alliance they are currently. Remember in '97 when they let the fans cheer for Austin and boo for Bret Hart that the WWE just capalized on by making Bret anti-American and Austin the "anti-face"? Or how about the Die Rocky Die chants that the WWE also used to turn the Rock heel and be successful of it. Or maybe even the Batista face turn that happened because fans got behind Batista more than the WWE thought it would be?

This is basically because the WWE during some of those LET the fans dictate who was the face and heel in the given situations. They didn't like Bret or The Rock, so they just used that as a means to turn Bret and Rock heel instead of trying time and time again to sell them as something that the fans are obviously rejecting. WWE got a DAMN good Mania out of Batista at 21 as far as reception goes because they let the fans choose Batista as the face.

However, look at the way it is now.

• Cena is getting nearly booed out of every arena he is in, yet he is still playing the babyface (not even a tweener) with the WWE absolutly REFUSING to change it.
• It's quite obvious that, regardless of whether or not you can classify him as "overrated", the fans can have a real easy time getting behind Kennedy, yet he continues the heel persona, even though many fans can be heard giving him pops on SmackDown. Hell, Kennedy continues to be, by far, one of the best mic workers ever, and EVERYONE says his catch phrases along WITH HIM!! Shouldn't that tell you something, WWE?! SELL HIM AS A FACE AND YOU WILL GET TICKET SALES AND BASICALLY THE SECOND COMING OF THE ROCK!! Okay, maybe that second thing is a little far fetched right now, but the tickets will surely sell if the marks have a viable reason to want to see Kennedy, don't you think? And I'm sorry, but SD is in some NEED of face main eventers, and from the look of things, Kennedy has gone through all the SD faces, anyway (is this starting to sound like MY personal campaign to turn Kennedy face coming back up again? If it is, then GOOD!!).
• The report that a fans "Thanks Lita" sign was confisgated at the door when she had her last match because it was a "pro-heel" sign. C'MON!! It's like the WWE is pretending that people who have followed her career (our thoughts of her be damned) never existed. Let the fans give her a good send off, for Christ sakes. And now they are confisgating "anti-face" and "pro-heel" signs like sobriety checkpoints? WTF, WWE?!!
• The fans seem to be really fucking tired of the Booker heel persona, yet this is how they package him, and it is likely to never change. "KING BOOKA!!" is getting as annoying as fuck, and it seems as if the fans are ready for at least a change, but the WWE doesn't think so.
• Didn't they think about turning Khali face at one point? Man, wouldn't that be something? A FACE GIANT IN THE WWE!! The Big Sihow for a little while was able to do that. Sure, Khali might still be green and might suck, but a face persona, one that I think the fans might be very perceptive of, might be good for him. Yet, whoever was the fucktard that gave the WWE the reason to keep him heel won over with Vince, and BAM!! We get a stale gimmick.

MY thought is to let the fans be the deciding factor. If they are indeed booing him, then you can use that for a heel persona. If you're having a heel that is getting awesome pops, then that should tell you something. But stop trying to shut up people that don't confirm to what you're packaging people as. This is why you have a shortage of heels right now.

They were neutralish at first, but I think the feud with London and Kendrick has pushed them to definite heel status.

It's his heel persona that the fans are rallying behind, though. If they try to make him sound like a good guy--stop being the overconfident prick that we all know and love--then he's going to lose the support of the fans. He'll be watered down and generic and, holy shit, be Smackdown's John Cena (minus Superman Syndrome). It's not like he's totally heel to the max right now anyway... he's just a dick. It's entertaining. Consider him an anti-hero.

You realize he's getting paid to be annoying, right? It was obnoxious from the beginning... because he's a fucking heel. It's not likely to "never change," it was a King of the Ring shtick and it'll get dropped as soon as they come up with a better idea. In the mean time, don't assume fans are tired of a heel gimmick just because they're... wait, booing?


Big Show did that most of his career, not "for a little while." Don't kid yourself, Khali as a face would be entertaining for about ten minutes, and then he'd be just as stale as he is as a heel. He's still Khali, and he's still on RAW. It's just gonna suck no matter what the fuck you do with it.

Heel champions are much better, too bad there hasnt been a real Heel champion in a while.

Just what I was thinking, that sentence of his contradicts his agreement to this topic.

Batista looks to be turning heel, which I always thought he should have been with him limited mic skills, and only does about 5 or 6 different moves.

The only legit main event heel on SmackDown! is out with an injury in Booker T. Everyone else just isn't ready to carry the load of being top threats to the major faces they have there. Finlay's getting up there in years and while a good wrestler, just doesn't scream main eventer. MVP is too busy in the mid-card and will have to the face the task of making himself look good when his program with Benoit is over. Kennedy is a freaking joke because they don't seem to know what to do with his character and thus isn't over. OK, so he won Money in the Bank. Why is he getting put in the middle of a Batista and Undertaker feud when he's going to just be overshadowed and beaten? OK, so he's beaten 7 former world champions. Every one of them done in a way to make him look extremely weak or against people everyone else beats all the time. I may be watching a different SmackDown! but once Kennedy gets done with his schtick on the mic, the fans tune out. Raw has a decent number of heels that can be legit whereas SmackDown! is practically scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Thing is its too late for him to turn heel imo, he should've been heel during his last title run. Its too late now though because we can't take him seriously considering Taker will be holding the title for a long time.

Is he heel, or just feuding with Taker?

Batista's one of the most over guys at live shows, and certainly still seems to be pushed as a face everywhere except possibly up against Taker.

That's the thing WWE don't seem to understand in regards to turning a popular heel fully face.

They make em goody two shoe, bland, etc.

With a guy like Kennedy you don't change what he's doing...you change who he's doing in to!

Mr. Kennedy should be moved to RAW to feud with John Cena, in my opinion. Have Kennedy use the MITB title shot after Cena defends it at Backlash, and have him become RAW's top heel. If the fans take Kennedy's side, let John Cena win the WWE Title back, and have Kennedy chase it. I think a Cena vs. Kennedy feud is the way to go on RAW.

On SmackDown!, Mark Henry will be returning soon. Like it or not, the WWE has a hard-on for the man, so I expect him to be a top heel. Finlay and MVP cannot be ignored, either. Neither is really a main eventer (although one could make a case for Finlay), but they could easily be bumped up. MVP is probably pretty close to a face turn.

When King Booker returns, I'm expecting him to play more of a tweener character, and for the fans to choose whether or not he's going to be a face or a heel. I see him going more Booker T-ish in the role, with some "royal" influence. "NOW CAN YOU DIG THAT......PEASANTS!?!?!?!?!?!" *Kingaroonie*

When the fuck are they doing to do King of the Ring again, anyway? That's always good for elevating talent.
