May not be the best now compared to what is out there. But it revolutionized videogames in many ways, creating numerous copycats and sequels. Recall playing this game all the time, I still can recall the layout for the map ever though I haven't played it for at east 3 years.

It was a nice time killer, but nothing that really set me a buzzing.
|
4. I never got into it, mayeb put a few hours into it, but watched it plenty, I can just appreciate it for what it is.
|
One of many games that changed the way games are made and played. However, not as good as V.C. and S.A.

5. One of the most amazing games I've ever played. It totally blew me away with its awesomeness. Very very very few games have done that.

Sad to say I hate this game, while it sparked such games as VC and SA, It was horrible, with boring missions (for me) Tinfoil cars, and a hard to navigate, although intriguing city. |

This didn't exactly catapult GTA into the mainstream (that was saved for Vice City, since they got basically EVERYTHING right with VC), so I wouldn't consider it a classic. |
Didn't have a PS2 so i have only played it a bit. Definitely moved video gaming along though.

Gave it a 5. There were a lot of groundbreaking new features as the first installment of GTA to grace the PS2 was welcomed into so many of our homes and given a decent console to be played on and loved for hours, much like a favorite pet. It was the first 3-D GTA game, and allowed for you to move about the map at your own discretion...for the first time you could actually go anywhere in the game without being "trapped" somewhere, and if you didn't want to do a certain mission, you could go for a drive(-by, too:cool:), a walk, a killing or hijacking spree, or take part in races, and a million other things. We can only hope GTA IV will live up to the standards set by this amazing game.

5, this game was a classic.
|
Definitely a 5. I was fucking addicted to this game when I first got it, simply could not put it down. I still have the memories of racing my friend to beat the game first (and winning despite him having a huge head start on me)

Man, I missed THPS. I will murder anyone in Tony Hawk.

Easy 5, still remember the map.
|
Voted a 5 and while after doin it I was unsure, it was THE game for me that set off a whole revolution of games, so 5.

Forget that. How Mario 3 has been sitting on top for the last 20 weeks is beyond me. |
