Shawn Michaels Retirement Match
 

I remember hearing about HBK coming out of retirement (this is before he came back to WWE), and he wrestled one of his students if I remember correctly. Does anybody remember who this was, and if he ever amounted to anything?

That was in his Texas academy wasn't it? I do remember that, I think it happened, don't know alot more than that though

Wasn't it against Spanky? I swear it was...

Yup he fought Venom (which I believe was paul diamond) in a streetfight in 2000. There was rumors at the time that HBK was gonna wrestle a match in ECW but that didnt happen.

Venum. He had the same real name as Paul Diamond (Tom Boric) but I always figured that was a coincidence, and that it was one of his students.

It was Paul Diamond.

Why, then, did Michaels employ the recognisable Diamond on his shows and book him in a new gimmick? Strange. Oh well, not doubting it, just seems strange.
