Any good RPGs for the 360?

I'll also accept BC XBox games. Keep in mind I'm not big on the first person type of game. I'll accept action or Strategy RPGs, but mostly I'd like a traditional style.

Super V 05-05-2007 02:02 AM

Enchanted Arms is a good traditional RPG. Turn-based combat and all.

Bad Company 05-05-2007 02:23 AM

Oblivion?

Mr Regal 05-05-2007 06:14 AM

Yeah man get Oblivion, and let it eat your life.

Kane Knight 05-05-2007 09:50 AM

You're both retarded.

Fignuts 05-05-2007 12:37 PM

Fable, Jade Empire, both Star Wars KOTOR games

As for 360, Oblivion IS amazing so it may change your mind on your aversion to FPS RPG's. I'd at least rent it, and give it a shot. I believe there is a phantasy star game out. Nothing to write home about from what I hear tho.

Mass Effect is coming out soon which will be awesome. Also Blue Dragon looks like it has potential.

:y:

(Oblivion is only first person if you want it to be btw.)

But if you're into turn based games Id say give kotor a go.

Requiem 05-05-2007 03:58 PM

Fignuts pretty much got the good ones there.

Mass Effect will be amazing, I think. I have very high hopes for it and I will probably get hooked on it as soon as I have a 360. Bioware is a great company for RPGs.

It's not turn-based.

It is a real-time game that you can pause at any time to queue up skills/attacks or switch to another character to do the same, and then switch back to the main one. Everything actually -happens- in real time.

Saying turn-based makes me think Final Fantasy, which I can't stand.

Its turn based. It just presented in a way that makes it appear otherwise.

Requiem 05-05-2007 04:37 PM

By your reasoning, technically every hack n' slash is turn-based as well due to the system that you can't see that determines hits/misses. But that's not what a turn-based game is. KotoR is not turn-based.

It's a system similar to NWN.. a series of hidden dice rolls are done determined by your skills/stats as to whether or not you will hit the target, and what damage you will do.

Again, it is not turn-based. There is no way to present a turn-based game to make it look anything other than turn-based. Turn-based means each side takes turns selecting their next moves and then both sides do a round of attacks and it happens again.

Final Fantasy is a turn-based game. Civilization is a turn-based RTS.

Kane Knight 05-05-2007 05:57 PM

BTY is also a 'Tard. KOTOR is not Turn Based, and before anyone bitches that I won't "give it a go," I've tried it. Like Oblivion, I find it to be ass.

So far, the only guy who's actually said something useful is the guy who was looking for Stacy Kiebler porn. Hmmmm...

Requiem 05-05-2007 06:10 PM

If you can't find good in anything suggested, then RPGs are just not your thing KK. You should stick to other genres, because the games mentioned are some of the best in the genre.

Better Than You 05-05-2007 06:16 PM

It is VERY turn based. You guys are fools.

Requiem 05-05-2007 07:06 PM

K, you go believe what you want then. Being able to pause a game and queue attacks does not equal turn based. You're a moron. It is real-time, not turn-based.

DS 05-05-2007 09:28 PM

 Definitely a real-time game. I can see why you would think turn-based but you are wrong.

Extreme Angle 05-06-2007 04:15 AM

I'm thinking of buying final fantasy 11...
Should I buy it?

Requiem 05-06-2007 04:46 AM

The MMO? No. Not unless you have a LOT of time to dedicate to it. It is not a game for the casual player.

Requiem 05-06-2007 04:49 AM

If by chance you meant Final Fantasy 12, I would give it a chance. It's the only one with a combat system worth a damn in my opinion. A friend of mine is really into it, and it will take a while to beat but it's possible. He only gets to play every couple days, and he is almost to the end after doing most of the side quests as well. It's taken several months though.

Extreme Angle 05-06-2007 06:22 AM

I meant the MMO, My friend in school plays it, and since after exams I have 12 weeks off so i thought i'd have time to kill

Mr Regal 05-06-2007 11:13 AM

Get a girlfriend!

Play football!

Drink!

Don't waste your holiday playing an MMO, that would be a horrible waste of life.

Extreme Angle 05-06-2007 02:43 PM

Yeah , I'm 16 so not old enough to go out to a pub, so I'd have to drink in a field or what ever which would look to chavy for me...
Football for 12 weeks... Don't think so
girlfriend... there's a thought

Hanso Amore 05-07-2007 05:33 AM

Phantasy Star Online is decent for about 12 hours, then it just becomes repetitive. Thats just me though, never been a Grind it out guy. I have friends that love it to hell.

Oblivion is love it or leave it, as is the rest of the 360 stock.

Yoru SOL until Mass Effect

Mr Regal 05-07-2007 08:08 AM

Mass effect is the one by the same house that did Jade Empire and KOTOR right?

DS 05-07-2007 11:27 AM

Correct, Bioware.

Extreme Angle 05-07-2007 04:13 PM

Mass Effect, also Huxley looks amazing an mmorpgfps, and apb which is gonna own cba to mention all its amazing qualities, go to www.apb.com

Requiem 05-07-2007 04:22 PM

Keep in mind Mass Effect isn't an MMO. Back to the FF11 topic. There are many better MMOs out there. If you've never played an MMO before, go with WoW. It's got an easy learning curve.

Huxley won't be coming out for quite some time.

D Mac 05-07-2007 06:28 PM

Oblivion rules all. Bitch

I like KOTOR. I like Star Wars and I thought the gameplay was pretty sweet. I'm just curious as to why you don't like it?

Extreme Angle 05-08-2007 11:12 AM

pc sucks and I cba to buy another or upgrade...
