Say what you want about Todd Grisham...
The match is Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch vs. Eugene & Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Before the match, Eugene and Duggan bounce around the ring, and delay the match with their antics. Eugene takes Duggan's 2x4 and places it on his palm and balances it.
Jack Korpela: Eugene is not letting go of Hacksaw's wood. Todd Grisham: Please do not say the line "Eugene will not let go of Hacksaw's wood," again. This is a family show. I think Joey Styles was right when he said Grisham's sense of humour would make him a pretty nifty colour commentator. I like the way they've kind of heeled him up a bit in recent months, i.e. taking the F-U from John Cena, ranting on how he hopes Umaga beats him (I think it was Umaga who Grish wanted to see beat Cena), taking the bitch slap from Mickie James, etc. Jonathan Coachman was really pretty bland until they turned him heel. I don't think Grish should get the honour of hitting John Cena with a steel chair, or anything (Although I would mark out, love him or hate him: Grish > Cena. Oh, it's true.), but the continued sleazy-bagging up of his interviewer would be pretty cool. By the way, I still think Josh Mathews and Jack Korpela have potential as a commentary duo. Please, WWE, give them Heat. Grisham could occasionally sit in as a third man, although it could get pretty messy. |
He's made fantastic strides, and I don't want to kill people every time I see him now.
|
Call me when he gets his own radio show.
|
I don't mind him at all, he makes me chuckle from time to time. Kinda reminds me of Mike Goldberg.
|
I'd much rather he stay right where he is.
|
Josh Matthews is the future.

I think Mathews' time will come much later, once a lot of the heat has died off on him. That can happen overnight in the wrestling industry, though. |
For some reason I read "Todd Grisham" as being "Michael Cole" and I wanted to flame you. Then I reread it, and I agree with you for once. Grisham is entertaining.
|
Meh, I just watch wrestling on mute these days.
|
Unless it's SmackDown, which I'm going to start only listening to it for JBL, but not actually watch any of it.
|
Grish just needs to lay off the ring announcing and he'll be fine...

Why is there "heat" on Mathews?
Also Grisham's Harry Carey is the shit. |

I don't see how you guys think the WWE don't like Matthews. He has a job there, doesn't he?

I'll take him! *runs to phone* Hello, memory of WCW? I've got somebody you want. That's right...ALL the "...on a pole" matches! |
I thought Tim White killed Josh Matthews?

I'm not actually sure of the reason there is heat on Mathews. I think it may be something like him voicing disapproval of his position in the company. Maybe he just ribbed one of the big boys backstage, and they can dish it out, but they just can't take it? At a recent PPV press conference, Finlay punched Josh Mathews. This was unscripted and Mathews was apparently upset by it (as he should be, wrestling business or not, you just don't go up to someone in front of a crowd and punch them). This could have been punishment for whatever the WWE are pissed at. The way Mathews responsed, while appropriate in any other walk of life, probably didn't do him any favours in the WWE. Mathews is banging a (former) hot employee of the WWE, Rue DeBona. We all know how the boys in the back react to young guys banging hot chicks (see: Punk, CM; Nitro, Johnny). |

But Nitro is banging (allegedly) a horse-faced sloot.

Coachman is still bland.

Todd Grisham, Josh Mathews and Jack Korpela are all more interesting to me. |
