They all need contracts if they want to be employed, especially because they're publicly traded.

Even if they are the majority shareholders or own all the voting stocks (news flash, there can be seprate classes of stocks being traded, and depending on how the company does things, the stocks can have different voting rights. For example, there is a Class A and Class B stocks for Ford, the actaul Ford Family ownes all the class B stock, and the class B stock has something like 4 or 5 time as many votes as the class A stock does.)

Shane needs a contract because he's a commodity.

If he didn't have one, he'd be up for grabs to the entire world.

He has a contract so he can make 2 salaries.

He needs the extra money, so when Steph and Hunter take over and fire Shane, he'll have a little extra money.

Then he can go buy TNA and appear on it like he did with WCW.
