I said I wouldnt have been surprised if this happens. Now I'm gonna have to go download Smackdown.

So does Edge lose the belt to Batista or does he hold it until Mr. Kennedy comes back setting up the natural feud for the title, and actually giving Edge a lengthy meaniful title reign. Maybe keeping a heel a champ who isn't Triple H for longer than a month.

I can understand why people don't like the WWE ruining it, but the internet has ruined the atmosphere of a taped show. Edge winning the World Heavyweight Championship would be reported on other websites, so why not their own? I would have been a little more discrete, and not blown up the thing to headline proportions. Just have a report from the SmackDown! tapings that a new World Champion was crowned, and then talk about how Batista and The Undertaker are having a Steel Cage Match. Marks would read it and think Batista was going to win, then Edge wins, and it gives them a surprise.

I love Edge and all, but is he really more of a draw than Batista? It wouldn't surprise me, I guess, but I think just as many people would tune in if they thought Batista was going to win the Title.

The phone thing on ECW was shit. Why not just have Tazz say something like "As the former colour commentator of SmackDown!, I still follow the show, and I watched the tapings from the back earlier, and you do not want to miss it. New World Champion, baby!" Joey Styles could then cut him off before he went into the specifics.

This is exactly what I would have done if I had booked it, so I'm glad Edge is champ. He'll feud with Batista, but his program with Kennedy on RAW will also set up a possible Wrestlemania 24 main event. And he can work with Taker when he gets back too, if he wants.

Meanwhile, I'm sure it'll be Batista vs Mark Henry at Judgment Day.... oh joy...

To take a page out of your book, I see this being something that SHOULD be happening in the future:

Edge comes out as WWE Champion. He announces that he has a bodyguard and brings out... Mark Henry. Anyone wanting a shot at Edge has to go through Henry. Even play up Henry's reputation for hurting people.

Henry should feud with Batista right off the bat, giving Edge time to take care of what he calls "Personal Business." What is this Personal Business? Matt Hardy. Have him back handedly thank Matt for giving him the boost he needed to get to the top of the WWE. Then end his promo with an ominous "I'm gonna finish what I started two years ago. I'm gonna end your career, and destroy your life!"

One thing that benefits Smackdown is that they have a Wrestling guy in charge of booking (Michael Hayes), instead of a Television guy (Brian Gerwitz). With someone like Edge, who is probably one of the best heels in the business today, he should, if he stays healthy (a gigantic IF for a Smackdown Superstar in general, even moreso with it being Edge) be a massive draw for the company.

I think WWE.com may have gone a bit overboard
