I iz a john CENAAAAA fanzzzzz and i wantd 2 no wich u tgink iz betta: BAZIC TUGGANOMICS or DA TIME IZZZZ NOWWW>?!??!?!?!?!

Seriously though, which was/is better?

I have to go with Basic Thuganomics. Mainly because it sounds like a great heel theme.

Juan 05-12-2007 03:34 PM

Neither, I fucking hate wiggers.

ClockShot 05-12-2007 03:36 PM

WHAT! NO BAD BAD MAN?

Just kidding, I hate wigger music as well.

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 03:36 PM

Basic Thuganomics is one of my ringtones.

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 03:36 PM

What were you trying to do by making 'I hate wigger music' and option?

Two face rappers walk away with four shiners
The war rhymer
Turnin' legends to old timers
My incisors like a viper bitin through your one liners
New deadman inc., and we about to make you famous
Takin' over earth and still kickin' in uranus

Not bad rhymes, really.

chrisat928 05-12-2007 03:38 PM

I like "Basic Thuganomics." But if he ever turns heel. he should use "Don't Fuck With Us."

A white guy rapping does not equate a wigger, for the record.

So you're saying Cena isn't a wigger?

Because THAT's what I was getting at.

Also, LOL at Cena not being able to to keep a poop joke out of his theme.

chrisat928 05-12-2007 03:42 PM

Considering all the shitty music out there, Cena ain't that bad of a rapper.

Most rap is shit anyway.

*Cough*

*Prepares for incoming flames*

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 03:44 PM

I've always had a problem with the term 'wigger'. Maybe because of the word that it stems from. Or maybe because I can't believe that people can't come to grips with people just relating to things that aren't from their 'own kind'.

Look at John Cena now and tell me what's wiggerish about him. All he did when he was a heel was rap and wear throwbacks. Sure he hammed it up for the character, but it really was never a huge deal to me that he was white. It was just a good character.

I always wondered if a black rapper could get over as a heel.

See, that's kinda what it sounded like you were implying to begin with as well. Dunno, the option just didn't sit well with me. Not like I expect you to do anything about it. Just saying.

Wigger = White person who acts "ghettoish"/"Unrealistically Thuggish" and talk with a stereotypical black "drawl" I'll call it as far as I'm concerned.

It was more a shot at the Cena joke than anything else in the first place, you made it personal.

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 03:49 PM

Did you consult Merriam Webster on that one?

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 03:51 PM

Dunno, I like Cena and I like rap (I'm a minority in SO many ways), and I see people talk shit about both ALL the time. Get's redundant, I guess.

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 03:52 PM

Surely I won't argue that his heel character wasn't a "wigger", but when that theme music changed, so did his character, and what we have now is hardly a "wigger". Therefore, "The Time is Now" shouldn't even techincally be considered "wigger" music.

Just things to think about here.

Xero 05-12-2007 03:52 PM

It doesn't take much to have three beats and a few rhyming words to make a "song".

Same as it doesn't take much to have three moves to have a Cena "match".

when you consider the etymology of "wigger," and how long it's been around (The source of "white Nigger," anyway), it's kind of shocking how common the word is. It's also funny that people do the whole "He's trying to be black."

If anything, we should mock Hulk as a wigger. He was trying to be black, and ended up orange.

I don't know how much rap or hip hop you actually listen to. I'm willing to bet not much. And I'm also gonna guess you only hear the stuff on the radio. That was just a dreadful, dreadful assesment. But I guess that's a different discussion for a different tiem.

That shit irks me hardcore. So much that I couldn't keep my mouth shut in this very thread.

Blitz 05-12-2007 03:57 PM

Basic Thuganomics by a huge margin.

Xero 05-12-2007 03:58 PM

I have to ask, what would be considered the current day stereotypical upscale/middle class black person? I'm not trying to be offensive here, but let's look at it:

Has "tricked out" rides
Likes to "bling it up" whenever possible
Likes rap, probably does rap

2 out of three right there for Cena, and I'm sure I missed a few.

By THESE standards, you can say that Cena is trying to be black OR adopting the black culture. Pretty much a classic "wigger" definition.

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 03:58 PM

As far as the two pieces of work being discussed here, I'm gonna bet "Basic Thuganomics" wins by a landslide considering what was going on with Cena on screen when people were hearing these themes.

Why can't white guys be into those things without being accused of trying to be something else? I'm sorry, but I just don't use stereotypes as a measuring stick.

Yeah I used to be like that too. Then I started listening to shit that wasn't on the radio. No longer.

Blitz 05-12-2007 04:02 PM

Gonna go listen to the Roots now.

I've been trying to convert so many people, but all that 'stereotypical' shit on the radio is such a hard sell. People get their stereotypes and they hold dear to them, like Cena and the spinner belt.

See? I can make Cena jokes too!

Neither do I when it matters, but this is about John Cena, and he's clearly promoted as such.

McMahon even made the "mah nigga" joke. What more do you need to see that he's seen by the writers as a "wigger"? Or at least was?

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 04:07 PM

Fine, but either way, this thread was just about the two songs, I thought. Which one do people like better. I thought the 'I hate wigger music' was slightly hateful sounding, not to mention detremental to the purpose of the thread, which was to see what song people liked better. That was the purpose, right? Maybe I read it wrong?

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 04:08 PM

It wasn't even make a public poll. People can be anonymous bigots. I guess that's a pretty good selling point. :shifty:

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 04:09 PM

And yes, I'm sure I'm looking way too far into this. But looky here...a cookie cutter joke poll thread has now started a potentially decent discussion. I'm off to work now, but you guys can thank me later.

Xero 05-12-2007 04:09 PM

Yes, it was. It was only a joke, like so many OTHER polls on this site has.

I really do apologize that it offended you. I don't try to offend, I only try to exploit a joke out of something, this time being a running gag. (Yes, the secret to my rep is exposed.)

Anybody Thrilla 05-12-2007 04:14 PM

Xero, you're respected here. You could use your powers for SO much better.
