Which Championships need new belts?
This is just a place to discuss Championships which you would like to see get better belts to represent them. Any company, big or small, can be brought up.
Personally, I think the WWE needs to get new belts for the Cruiserweight Title. It's almost more strap than plate. Seeing as the cruiserweights tend to fly, maybe something involving an eagle? The WWE used the eagle on its World Championship designs back in the day. It would take the Cruiserweight Championship from being a WCW championship represented by a bland belt, and make it a WWE champion, who is a worthy part of the WWE dynasty. It's growing on me, but I think when MVP wins the United States Championship at Judgment Day, he should bring in a belt to represent it. The current one doesn't seem to live up to its glory. If they really want to have the American flag design on the belt, maybe design the nameplate after the current belt, and have the flag with a gold name over it? If it doesn't look too ugly, I guess they could also have the strap pattented after the United States flag. I'd minimize the presence of the strips, though. |

I'm not a fan of the guy, but if Khali were to beat Cena, and crush the WWE spinner belt with his chop, I would mark out like a little bitch. It would all be worth it. Shawn Michaels or Chris Jericho can beat Khali.

We don't need new belts, we need old belts. The IC belt should revert to classic form, and the WWE title should go back to the old "Winged Eagle" design. Those belts fucking rocked. I kinda like the US title now (I was VERY glad when JBL and OJ torched Cena's spinner), what I'd like to see is MVP introduce a flashier strap for it.

I want the spinner gone, and the IC title should be the same. The Raw tag titles suck compared to the SD! tag titles, which look more like the old ones.

The WCW United States belt was the only really good looking belt to come out of WCW in my opinion. (Big Gold Belt included). Why not bring that design back with the WWE logo at the top?

In honesty, I liked the Attitude era belt better than the Eagle Wing belt. If a belt should be brought back, I choose that one.
I can live with IC, but agree that the old belt was better. World Tag Team also needs new belt. I really hate that, and personally the classic Tag Team (which I think SmackDown uses now) were always my favorite belts. |
The 80s/90s Intercontinental title is the best looking belt of all-time, in my view. I wish they would bring it back, it just LOOKS more prestigious than the current one, even if technically it's the same. The current I-C is awful in comparison.
In fact, all the WWF title belts of the 80s/90s were bordering on perfection. Maybe it's just nostaglia or sentimentality, but I really don't know why they felt the urge to change them so drastically. I understand there were copyright issues involved, but still.... those titles looked great and meant a lot. |
I would bring back the attitude era WWE heavyweight belt, and, as most said, the old IC belt rocked. That one definitely needs to be brought back.

I agree that the WWE Intercontinental Championship needs to go back to its earlier design. The current one loses me on the wavy writing of "Intercontinental Champion". And what the Hell happened to Intercontinental Heavyweight Wrestling Champion? I'd rather be that than "Intercontinental Champion". What am I Intercontinental Champion of? I like the oval shape of the Earth on the belt design, but the wavy writing needs to go. Change it back to reading "Intercontinental Heavyweight Wrestling Champion," too.
The World Tag Team Championship needs to change. The new belts are pretty shit. I like the old-school belts, to be honest. They even have the WWE logo on them. One thing I don't like about the current tag team belts is that don't look like they can belong anywhere but on their brand. The Attitude-era belts look like a company's tag team championship. SmackDown!'s WWE Tag Team Championship is a lot better, but it might as well read "SmackDown! Tag Team Championship". I'd keep the general design, but I'd maybe change some the blue. I dunno, maybe some silver, or even green. Just something which makes the belts seem universal. The Cruiserweight Title needs to change. I still maintain that. The WWE's classic Light Heavyweight Championship is what a junior heavyweight belt should look like. |
I like the World Heavyweight Championship belt a lot, the ECW World Championship belt is good and I think the WWE Tag Team Championship & World Tag Team Championship belts are fine too.
Every other belt in the company need a make-over. |

Of all the belts in WWE right now it's funny that the two best looking belts are on the B and C shows...
The ECW strap looks good, and the WHC is classic. But that isn't the thread. I would like to see MVP trash the US belt and just redesign it completely. I did like the old WCW US belt, so that could be an option. I would like to see the CW belt strapped to one of those opening pyro displays and just fucking destroyed! (God damn I hate fucking Cruisers) Lets bring back the television belt! and fuck that dogshit hardcore title! |
