American Dad

This is quickly becoming my favorite show on TV. Sunday's episode was classic with Stan and Roger getting baked out of their minds.

:y: :y:

American Dad > "new" Family Guy

IC Champion 05-24-2007 09:39 PM

I to enjoy American Dad very much I have all three season burned onto DVD so I have to start watching it from scratch I think i might have missed a few episodes.

Kris P Lettus 05-24-2007 09:59 PM

I dunno about it..

I tried to watch it when it first came out but it seemed way to "forced".. All the characters are super cheesy..

Not a big fan over here..

Kane Knight 05-24-2007 10:14 PM

American Dad picked up from the beginning, Krispy. I don't think it's as good as people are making it out to be, becuase it still feels kinda forced. It's more enjoyable than it used to be.

BigDaddyCool 05-24-2007 10:18 PM

I agree, it is better than it used to be. But that is like say warm flat soda is better than a kick in the nuts.

Kane Knight 05-24-2007 10:25 PM

It's more like saying cold flat soda is better than warm flat soda, but You get points for bringing the nuts into it.

How can you have a cold flat soda? I guess it could be like an old 2 litre of soda, but those are gay. I hate 2 litres of soda.

FakeLaser 05-24-2007 10:46 PM

Not a fan.

Skippord 05-24-2007 11:34 PM

It is probably my favorite animated show on TV

Xero 05-24-2007 11:37 PM

I'm starting to love it. When I first started watching I was "meh", but now it's pretty awesome.

Fox has aired a shitload of good animated shows.

What? Flat soda is soda that lost its carbonation and is no longer fizzy. Since when does flat = warm?

Kane Knight 05-24-2007 11:43 PM

I expect American Dad will be cancelled soon, anyway. I mean, like I said, I've gotten into it (Still not the greatest, but I'm into it). Therefore, CANCELLED!

Boondock Saint 05-25-2007 12:34 AM

I love the hour of Family Guy and American Dad. Many laughs for me.

Yeah same pretty much. Dunno, just don't really connect with it I guess.

It's watchable, but I'd take a lot of other shows over it.

Triple A 05-25-2007 04:27 AM

Yeah I don't really like it much. Like it's OK but you know.

Dave Youell 05-25-2007 04:47 AM

I just came across as Family Guy re done as McFarlane needed something else to do when Fox canceled FG.

It's the same sort of set up and the same kind of outrageous humor which got FG over, so to me it's nothing new and it's all been done before and better

Team Sheep 05-25-2007 05:59 AM

I bought the first season on DVD the other week, lol it's pretty hilarious.

Been watching the 2nd season on BBC 3 lately. It's only on once a week over here, and it's on at like midnight :|

Unless anyone in the UK can tell me another channel I'm missing it on?

IC Champion 05-25-2007 11:34 AM

American Dad still jobs to Family Guy

Kane Knight 05-25-2007 11:44 AM

I dunno. American Dad hasn't been GREAT, but this Sunday's episode of FG flat out sucked.

Ther were like two r three funny things, and the rest was just total lameness.

NeanderCarl 05-25-2007 12:34 PM

When they first brought back Family Guy, it paled in comparison to its original run. However, the latest season has been a huge improvement, I would almost say it's back on form. Still a hit-and-miss episode here and there (like the most recent Back To The Future spoof I watched) but other than those hiccups, Family Guy has been awesome.

American Dad is okay, but I can't get addicted to it in the same way as FG.

Shaggy 05-25-2007 12:39 PM

I love the show...ive watched it every weekend and its one of the shows on Sunday that I actually look forward to..

Boondock Saint 05-25-2007 01:24 PM

I dunno, I loved this past week's FG.

The Chicken at the dance.
Roger at the end.
"Hey Rick, it's your cousin Marvin, Marvin Astley. You know that mediocre, generic sound you're looking for?? Well listen to this!!"

Tom Cruise "You can't catch me gay thoughts."

The Jetsons thing.

I dunno, made me ROFL. But I'm one of the few who doesn't think FG has been weak at all since it came back.

Xero 05-25-2007 01:29 PM

Same here. I'm loving every episode of FG. I admit, though, that their running gags are becoming too many too close together, especially the chicken. I mean, the first two times it was funny, now they're just really forcing it. Though I'm glad they did explain some things about it.

Boondock Saint 05-25-2007 01:33 PM

I know a lot of people hate the cutaways but honestly those are my favorite parts.

Xero 05-25-2007 01:36 PM

Oh same here. I consider them the holy grail of Family Guy, especially the really short ones and fairly longer ones.

Stickman 05-25-2007 01:46 PM

American Dad was terrible at first but has grown on me big time. Like everybody said it seemed forced. But it's like they found their groove.

Family Guy is still King. yeah some times it's not great but it's still good shit. I am fucking sick of Peter fighting that damn Chicken. It was funny to see the Chicken at the dance though.

Xero 05-25-2007 02:26 PM

I haven't seen "Da Boom" in a while, but wasn't the chicken originally a guy in a suit? And now he's become a real giant chicken.

NeanderCarl 05-25-2007 02:41 PM

Nah he wouldn't take the coupon off the guy in the suit because of his "bad experience" with the giant chicken.

Let's be fair, the three chicken fights were years apart, so it's not that tiresome. I do think they should leave it now, though.

If they ever do bring the chicken back, it should be in the finale just to finish off the fight for good.

Yeah, but when Family Guy reruns are on every day and you watch a Chicken fight then a new episode with a chicken fight it's gay.

Arnold HamNegger 05-25-2007 06:40 PM

Ok, I admit it....I just have a fetish for gay alien costume montages. :naughty:

Arnold HamNegger 05-25-2007 06:42 PM

That episode where Stan burns himself on the dick and gets addicted to cranking himself with the healing ointment is one of my all time favorite episodes of any show period.

The Vaudeville schtick on Family Guy is the absolute worst gag on the show ever.

Hardly, but they're done with that now anyway, they killed them off.

Blitz 05-26-2007 02:41 AM

Woodland Creatures Christmas is the best episode of any animated show ever.
