So I bought a Nintendo DS
I haven't purchased a game system in years... and I've probably only touched my Gamecube once in the past year and a half. Bought the DS off impulse today. So I got Super Mario Bros. and Final Fantasy 3.
Question. What is the point of Final Fantasy? All it is, you walk around and then you get attack and have to "fight." The fighting in that type of game is so lame. Am I missing something? I'm thinking I should have bought Spiderman 3, Diddy Kong Racing or Mario Kart. Any DS suggestions? And am I missing anything with Final Fantasy 3? |
Mario Kart is a must buy for the DS its very addictive. I have heard so-so reviews on Diddy Kong Racing.
Usually in games like FF you battle frequently to gain expirence and bulid up your teams stats. If you have no idea where to go next in a game talk to people in the towns or read a walkthrough online. I havent played my FF III much but I cant wait till DS re-releases FF IV with the new graphics. |
Advance Wars is pretty cool as well.

What's the point of Mario Kart? I mean, all you do is drive in circles.
|
rpgs are soooooo boring.

if he was talking nascar, i could understand. |
I'm going to just take the easy way out and assume RPG games are boring. Waste of 40 bucks towards Final Fantasy for me.
Spiderman 3 looks like fun. I hear you can also play Gameboy Advanced games for DS so that gives me more options too. |
final fantasy 3 was original NES (i assume its the original 3 where you start out with 4 Onion Kids) and it is mad unguided and confusing. i really wouldnt recommend that game unless you've played a few from SNES and ps1.
i recommend final fantasy 4, i think 5 and 6 are better but 4 is pretty linear...i think its fun to level up, follow the story, get a lot of abilities, do secrets and sidequests. i guess that doesnt appeal to everyone though. |
I don't normally like RPGs. Well mainly the Final Fantasy type RPGs. I do have V and VI for GBA that are pretty fun. I mainly like the Mario RPGS because they're fun as hell. I also love Pokemon.
There are shit loads of amazing DS and GBA games. Some may not be easy to find (mainly GBA). |
I'd suggest you buy an R4. It is one of best buys I made. Basically you buy an R4 and a microSD. Download DS Roms, put em on the microSD card, put that into R4 and put R4 into DS. In total for R4 and microSD you are looking to pay around 60 dollars, which is price of two DS games. It can hold a lot of games, plays em perfectly too. Like online and everything works fine, of course this is illegal so you will have to be ok with that.

If you're gonna get an action game, do yourself a favor and get a Castlevania game. Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of ruin, hell, even one of the GBA ones. Its sad to see how many people deprive themselves of the ass-kickery that is Castlevania. |
Yeah Castlevania games are awesome
|
And yup theres a HUGE GBA collection of all kinds and types of games you can buy and many were SNES hits or great new games.
|
get one of the Mario & Luigi RPGs (I know you can score Superstar Saga for GBA at like $20 now...totally worth it.)
|
More like $15 with that player's choice ish. I know because the price dropped the day after I got mine.
|
I just got Pokemon Diamond, Mario Kart, and the Web Browser.
Do not get the web browser. First crappy buy I had in a while. |
What did you expect from the web browser?
|
Porn.
Lots of it. :shifty: |
If you want porn on your Nintendo use the Internet channel on the Wii
|
Yeah you will prolly like the Mario and Luigi RPGs. Superstar Saga for the GBA is awesome and its a great buy right now. If you like it then buy the DS sequel to it Partners in Time.

Yeah I have Partners in Time, generally I'm not big on RPG's, just not my type of games. But I love PiT, had the classic hilarious text where they make fun of themselves and others. Was just a blast to play.
