Well, what do you think of the guy?

I would personally like to see more wrestling, less striking from him.

I have nothing against him at all, however I hate his charactor for the fact that hes nothing more then a stereotype and they expect him to get over, though it is mildly entertaining.

He has a character?

From what I have seen he is way too BABYFACE! Pretty bland too, with exception of some marinara sauce.

Is he getting boo'd yet?

Or whatever he does.

I like his theme song, but I hate him going over Chris Masters every week.

It always seem like whenever Chris Master has a match with someone once, hes destined to meet them week after week.

Yet there's a few people who could clearly give it some credibility. Nitro / Dykstra / Hardy / Regal (if he drafts). Call all make it a title worth challenging for.

I'm sure he'll be good as soon as this underdog angle is done with.

He's got an old school style but they aren't putting enough time in him to get him over. Dropping the ball as far as I'm concerned. Still I've been digging him.

I dig him. I like his STO, and it's better than Umaga as champ.

He could definitely bring prestige back to the IC title if he's booked right.

Far more watchable than umaga as champ, but that isn't saying much, he does entertain me though.

What's his finisher, the Schoolboy? Because that's all I see him do.

I would love to see Santino Marella pick up a modified version of the Mario theme. :love: Or at least something that made you think of it.

I like Anthony Carelli, as he has a lot of talent and wrestling ability. He needs someone that he can actually work with that will raise the prestige of the IC Title. Personally, I want to see Finlay moved over to RAW in the draft, and for Marella to work some matches with him. Put Kenny Dykstra and Johnny Nitro in the title hunt, and you have yourself a division that doesn't suck. Eugene should drop the Eugene character, and go back to being Nick. A few matches between Nick Dinsmore, Santino Marella and Finlay would be all that is needed to make me care. Val Venis could be put in some matches there, as well. Haas and Benjamin could be used part-time in the division. Providing he doesn't go to SmackDown! or ECW (which I actually think there is a very good chance of), Jeff Hardy is someone that was finding success in the division, too. He was actually making people care about it, as well.

OK I've not watched wrestling for well over a year...

So could anyone just quickly explain who this guy is, like real name and gimmick or whatever? And how he debuted?

A couple months back on RAW in Italy. Vince made an open challenge to any ''fan'' to face Umaga for the I-C title. Santino Marella was the guy chosen, and he won the title with help from Bobby Lashley. His gimmick is that of an underdog where the annoucers and stuff make it seem like he will lose the title but he keeps on winning. The only problem is his opp. has been Masters for like 4-5 times now and Santino has won every time.

I think Santino has potential. However I wish that they would have done the ''fan'' winning the I-C title have been Harry Smith in England instead of Santino is Italy.

Also, the underdog gimmick doesn't work when every other face champion is using an against all odds gimmick.

I mean, Anthiny Carrelli wasn't itallian enough. Steve Williams wasn't "Stunning" enough. And Rico's real name, Sado McAssfuck wasn't gay enough.

When you say Steve Williams, I'm assuming you mean Stone Cold, not Dr. Death. And I thought I read that Stone Cold changed his last name to Austin way before he was in WW(F)E because there was already a Steve Williams in wrestling.

It was merely a vehicle to get me to the third part of the triple.

Don't get too hungup on the specifics. I know there's an outbreak of linear thinking on these boards, but who's going to see "Sado McAssfuck" and start nitpicking about the content?

Vince recently does not like wrestlers using their real names so he can create a character and trademark it in case they leave and go elsewhere. Example is Monty Brown becoming Marquis Cor Von.

It's not just how he sucks, it's HOW MUCH he sucks.

To be honest Anthony (if that is his real name) isn't very Italian at all. Antonio would have been better.
