The IWC needs its own promotion fundraising thread.

Ok a bit of a joke really but how great would it be to chuck in the price of a WWE PPV or Live Ticket each and give all the money to Paul Heyman to create a company from.

As an actual purpose for the thread. I like the new Vince angle with him wandering round backstage smiting people. The matches he makes could be better thought out / booked but I prefer this mad Vince over his previous character. Though whether its an angle or was just for last week remains to be seen. What are your thoughts on it?

Anybody Thrilla 06-07-2007 05:18 PM

I think it's good. It's at least fresh. Also, I don't really know where it's going, so that's another plus. I'm also happy that he doesn't seem to give a fuck about Bobby Lashley anymore. I figure it may all just be leading up to Vengeance and the whole "Night of Champions" 'thing with his jealousy towards all champions.

Can I be on the creative team?

Kane Knight 06-07-2007 06:34 PM

Heyman is under contract with WWE. Talk about a conflict of interest?

KingofOldSchool 06-07-2007 06:41 PM

Yeah because Paul Heyman is the first guy I'd give all of my money to in order to run a wrestling promotion.

KingofOldSchool 06-07-2007 06:42 PM

I mean look at the original ECW.

The One 06-07-2007 07:43 PM

Better idea, use all this money, pool it, buy a significant percentage of WWE stock and be a shareholder who makes demands. I mean to be considered a major shareholder you only need, what, something around 5 or 6%. And seeing as how WWE stock is somewhere around 300 shares for a nickle or your best offer, I think we just might be able to do this. :p

Buy out every seat at WrestleMania, and don't have anyone show up.

Vince would shit himself. He made the money, sure, but how is a football stadium full of maybe 100 employees going to look to fans, investors, and potential advertisers?

Almost a good idea, but for something like Mania, the entire floor section is usually reserved for special guests, contest winners and other people who get their tickets through non-buying methods. Plus I think it would just be cheaper to buy out a chunk of the company seeing as how more than a fair percentage of the entire years gross comes from WrestleMania alone. Besides, I don't think we want to kill the industry, just shock it into a state of not sucking ass.

KingofOldSchool 06-07-2007 07:51 PM

Better yet...call Vince, Steph, Hunter, and Cena all to WWE Headquarters. And then somehow stage an "accident" which causes the building to explode.

The One 06-07-2007 07:53 PM

Can we kill Hogan too...I mean...just because???

Kane Knight 06-07-2007 07:55 PM

The One's onto something. For the price of a PPV, you could buy a couple of shares of WWE stock. So every time you feel like watching a PPV, buy stock and download it illegal. After all, it's YOUR product now. So it's not really stealing.

Sure...he can be walking up to the building when it explodes so the heat from the explosion burns him alive.

And to put the finishing touch, have the WWE logo fall on Hogan's head.

The One 06-07-2007 07:56 PM

Sweet.

KingofOldSchool 06-07-2007 07:59 PM

But of course the skeleton of Hulk Hogan will make a comeback, single handedly rebuild Titan Towers and proclaim himself new CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment. And in his first act rename WWE to WHE: World Hulkster Entertainment.

That would be better if it was Trips' fate. Held down by the company he held down for so long.

To be fair, Hogan held the company down for a longer period of time.

Arnold HamNegger 06-07-2007 11:07 PM

The bomb could be wired to go off during Hogan's entrance music.

"When it comes crashing down...."

BOOM

Hogan "holding people down" was more likely to spawn debate.

Just found the WWE's buisness strategy, made amusing reading!

Business Strategy

Our formula is straightforward. We develop compelling storylines anchored by our Superstars. This content drives television ratings, which, in turn, drive pay-per-view buys, live event attendance, WWE.com traffic and branded merchandise sales. Our strategy is to capitalize on the significant operating leverage of our business model through the distribution of this intellectual property across existing media platforms, as well as new and emerging distribution platforms.

We are working to expand the mainstream potential of the World Wrestling Entertainment brand in domestic and international markets, develop extension businesses off the World Wrestling Entertainment brand, fully develop our Internet presence as an entertainment and advertising platform, and develop new programming and sports entertainment brands that leverage WWE’s core competencies.

As part of our business strategy, we continue to pursue initiatives to strengthen our brands, expand internationally, effectively use our valuable library of wrestling content, and explore options in filmed entertainment.

God, that needs cleaning up.

Business Strategy

Our formula is straightforward. We develop ego-feeding storylines anchored by our favored Superstars. This content drives television ratings, which, in turn, drive pay-per-view buys, live event attendance, WWE.com traffic and branded merchandise sales, and when these fall short, we deflect, reassign, and often times simply deny blame. Our strategy is to capitalize on the significant operating leverage of our business model through the distribution of this intellectual property across existing media platforms, as well as new and emerging distribution platforms, which is damn easy because our next-biggest competition is a joke made up of a bunch of guys we either fired or wouldn't hire because they suck.

We are working to expand the mainstream potential of the World Wrestling Entertainment brand in domestic and international markets, develop extension businesses off the World Wrestling Entertainment brand by raping the memory of defunct companies that we own the rights to, fully develop our Internet presence as an entertainment, advertising, and propaganda platform, and develop new programming and sports entertainment brands that help to leverage against WWE’s core incompetencies.

As part of our business strategy, we continue to pursue initiatives to strengthen our brands, expand internationally, effectively use our valuable library of wrestling content, and explore options in filmed entertainment, but seriously, these people keep buying whatever crap we put out because we're better than our sorry-ass competition without even trying, so until we have some sort of real competition, we just don't have to try all that hard. I'm Vince McMahon, dammit, I MADE THIS BUSINESS.

Kane Knight 06-08-2007 10:47 AM

So WWE even claims to recognise that TV ratings drive merch sales, attendance, and PPV buys. Something ahlf of TPWW needs to get.

The question, then, is why they aren't changing a program, where last week's hourlies were 2.7 and (Below 2.7).

I'd suggest that they pay attention to said model.

Oh man! I could see you book a great promo! You have all this hype around "Will Lance Storm show up tonight?" A month before he was injured by Sabu and we don't know if he'll be able to wrestle for the ICW Heavyweight Title! So Sabu comes out, and then Lance Storm's theme hits (My Humps, of course) and he grabs the mic. Storm looks pissed off, and he all but yells into the mic....

I want to be on reality slap patrol.

You know, it's kind of a veto position. When someone books a stupid idea, I backhand them back to reality. It's like being a supervisor, only more violence.

MLW 06-09-2007 09:09 AM

Can I be a referee? And get chair shots???
