I hate TNA ppv names.

Xero 06-17-2007 10:10 PM

So what kind of music did he come out with? Was it Sonjay Dutt saying "OOOOHHHHH WHAT A SURGE!"?

Mooияakeя™ 06-17-2007 10:13 PM

IC Champion 06-17-2007 10:17 PM

You had better be shitting me.

NM. Haven't been following TNA in a while and thought you meant the world title.

lol. Hell no. That would be like TNA actually banning me from watching their shows (when they're actually on here!)

I don't like him tbh. Just simply don't rate him, or the gimmick. Think it's cheap.

Mr. Pierre 06-17-2007 10:40 PM

I really like Lethal. Even though I think the whole "Machismo" thing should be booked as a split personality gimmick, instead of Jay Lethal turning into the Macho Man full-time. Oh well, I still enjoy seeing him wrestle, even though at times he can be a bit generic. I've been to a lot of Jersey All-Pro shows, and IMO I think he's a better tag team wrestler.

Dorkchop 06-17-2007 11:29 PM

Any results for this PPV?

Dorkchop 06-17-2007 11:30 PM

Kurt Angle defeated Samoa Joe, Christian Cage, AJ Styles and Chris Harris in the King of the Mountain Match to become the first-ever TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Afterwards, Samoa Joe offered Angle his hand, and Angle gave Joe the Angle Slam. This should obviously be used to set-up a feud between the two, which should be good. Just fucking make Angle the heel already, though.

I think the only reason they put Sting over Christopher Daniels is because everyone expected Daniels to go over. Vince Russo couldn't have the expected result come to pass, after all. People expected it because it was the smart thing to do! A main event scene with Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels could have been bliss.

I still don't give a shit about Team 3D. The TNA World Tag Team Championship is still young, but I'd like to see Rhino and Senshi get a shot with their win over The LAX, and for them to actually win the belts. Rhino is enjoyable, and Senshi is just good.

Black Machismo is a good gimmick. It got Jay Lethal noticed, and carried him all the way to the TNA X-Division Championship. They need to now develop it, though. Jay Lethal needs to start coming out, and establish that he's not meant to actually be Macho Man, rather just using the gimmick to get himself noticed. It appears they are heading that way, though, as Nash is helping out the Murder City Machine Guns against Jerry Lynn and Bob Backlund, and Lethal does not approve. Sonjay Dutt apparently has a new "Guru" gimmick, too. If he sticks with Nash as a heel who uses shitty gimmicks against "now frills free" Jay Lethal, a match or two between the two for the X-Division Championship would be pretty sweet.

Lance Hoyt turned heel on BG and Kip James, who defeated my beloved Bashams. For shame, TNA. Hoyt as a heel is good, but they need to just have Doug and Damaja destroy The VKM and get them off TV. They really add nothing, whereas Basham & Damaja are a good heel unit with potential behind them. They are now attached to the career of a singles guy, too. I guess TNA does need an excuse for a rubber match, though. Please let it end at the next PPV.

The wrong team went over in the Jerry Lynn/Frank Wycheck vs. James Storm/Ron Killings match. The latter team consists of two wrestlers, both of which have a lot to offer TNA. Jerry Lynn is past his prime, and was retired at one point. Having him and Wycheck go over is just cheesy.

Quick thoughts on Slammiversary:

-Senshi and Hernandez need to have a one on one match. Their exchange was the goods

-Sabin and Lethal was a good match, could have done without Nash talking about Backlund the entire time. The top rope elbow was shit, the backbreaker/downward spiral combo should have finished it.

-VKM vs. Bashams. Sucks for Bashams. Next

-Tomko vs. Abyss. Awesome brawl. I thought they were blowing their load too early with the tacks and glass, but built up to it. Tomko looks like he's trying to make WWE pay for never using him. All Japan is helping him improve a lot.

-Classy piece by a wrestling promotion about someone's death? It happened. Jill Jarrett did a lot early on for TNA like getting wrestlers to the fairgrounds, getting the fairgrounds ready for wrestling.

-AJ and Harris stole the show during the KOTM. Looked like Harris was busting his ass to prove he belonged there. I don't get why Joe didn't even get a pin, but he made Angle tap while the ref was down, I guess they can play off it. Angle really doesn't need the TNA World Title, but as long as Joe takes it from him I'm happy.

Overall the work from the wrestlers doesn't hold TNA back, just the crap that also happens on the shows. That and they cut to videos too early and jam everything down your throat.
