So, I went ahead and watched Slammiversary (spoilers)

And it was pretty decent I thought. Better than a lot of crap that TNA has spewed out as of late. Every match on the card was at least somewhat entertaining, which honestly, is a step up from what the WWE has done lately.

I figured Kurt Angle would wind up champ. He is probably the biggest name in the company and i suppose they need a 'big name' with the belt if they want to try and compete with the WWE. But, this is the same fatal mistake that WCW made and I hope TNA doesn't go down the same path. WCW could only put over previously established stars. I think if TNA wants legit credibility and wants to make a legit run at the WWE, they need at least a few TNA-born stars in their title scene. They seem content with Samoa Joe and to a lesser extent, AJ Styles. 1) AJ Styles is not a legit main eventer in the mind of the casual fan, and hell, isn't in the mind of most internet smarks either. 2) Samoa Joe seems to have his own markish following, but people either love him or passionately hate him it seems. I don't think thats the kind of character response you want to build around.

So who does TNA need? Two weeks ago on Impact (I actually watched that too), James Storm and Chris Harris put on a GREAT match, I thought. And lately, I think the two of them have been proving their worth to TNA. Chris Harris was in the match last night, but wasn't received all that well, but probably because he was thrown in their last minute and with little explaination. Anyway, Storm and Harris are both guys that I think are main event caliber performers that TNA needs to utilize in order to be effective competition. I think I favor Storm at the moment, as I think he is the most ready to be in the main event right now. TNA needs to put Joe-Angle on the shelf for a little while. Go ahead and make Angle a clear cut face, and let Storm heel it up and fued with him.

Anyway, I'm groggy and still half-asleep and I'm having trouble organizing thoughts. So thats where I end the rant, for now...

TNA sucks overall, but their belts look pretty cool.

They're like hipsters, essentially.

I predicted Animal to be Ricks partner, I want that on record.

IC Champion 06-18-2007 01:54 PM

Im downloading it now, I should had it by now by I turned my computer off last night.

Mr. Pierre 06-18-2007 02:21 PM

I've heard it was a real good show. But, I was hoping they'd give the belt back to Christian. Why did they bother having the belt vacated though?

If they weren't going to keep the belt on Christian after Slammiversary, then I would have preferred them never pinning Christian at Sacrifice, because his 18 month undefeated streak has just been trashed. Then, have him lose the title in KOTM without getting pinned. Seemed kind of pointless to me.

Anyway, I would like to check out the PPV because I've heard good things.

Also Vote ABT for King Of The Forum, place your votes in casual, that is all.

Mr. Pierre 06-18-2007 02:33 PM

Oh, that's right. But still, why ruin Christian's undefeated streak in a triple threat? Just doesn't make sense.

IC Champion 06-18-2007 02:58 PM

Im only half way through the first match, I wanna personally kill Don West already.

IC Champion 06-18-2007 03:13 PM

And you people can say what you like about Chris Sabin, but he's entertaining as fuck in the ring.

Mercury Bullet 06-18-2007 03:32 PM

Sabin plays the heel very well, and even though the crowd tried to start the whole back and forth chanting for both of them, Sabin heeled it up so much they had to stop chanting for him.

IC Champion 06-18-2007 03:34 PM

OMG Nash booted Lynn and never tore anything? That was great, I wanna see where this goes, with Nash and Lethal.

IC Champion 06-18-2007 03:35 PM

Seriously when Nash came out, I marked out.

IC Champion 06-18-2007 03:41 PM

Also I never cared for Konnan, but LAX is great.

Mercury Bullet 06-18-2007 03:49 PM

Konnan should have always just been a manager.

I love Heel AJ

AJ:Hey, are you wearing your black and gold tonight?

Christian: Yea I am.

AJ: Me too, look at that.

Christian : We're a real team.
