Goldberg - Did you ever like him
??
Nope, Never, ever.
Nope.
Yeah, when he first arrived in WCW. After he turned "heel" and joined the New Blood is when it all went downhill.
I was never a big fan of his in WCW, but for some reason, I got really excited to see him in WWE, but of course, they fucked it up.
When he very first came on the scene. Tired of him quickly. By the time he came to WWE I had lost all interest. Trying to be big and scary by yelling and making goofy faces only really works on little kids. His on-screen personality just isn't believable, he doesn't play it well.
In WCW I did, but not towards the end of it. Didn't like him at all in WWE.

Liked him in WCW. At first I thought it was cool to see him in WWE, but it got boring pretty quickly.
I thought he was the man, never saw him in WWE though
Much like everyone else, I liked him in WCW early on. Never really saw him in WWE.
Nope. Not once. Not ever.

No. I can honestly say I hate that jew.
I doubt you all hated him when he was on that win streak

I hated him when he was on his win streak. The only thing I liked in WCW was NWO.

Isn't that what I said?
Just clarifying. There are some people who might think you meant "Hogan."
No, although Hollywood Hogan was the only "Hogan" I ever liked, but he wasnt on the Hall/Nash level.
I like him used correctly. He's a decent squash match guy who shouldn't have any say in story lines and character development. I like to think Lesner and Batista as 'Goldberg formula don right'.
His WCW start pretty much showed that they had no clue what to do after his streak ended. WWE handled him even worse, matching him against top draws early on and losing interest by the 4th month. He got interesting near the end with a slightly altered look and even showed some improvement with the WWE style match progression. But again he was poorly used overall. I'm gonna assume TNA wouldn't do much better. |
Goldberg mark number one back in high school.

BTW, I became an account to take work away from a jew. |
I liked him. But he was so one dimensional. He has no versatility or long term value.
The guy can only play face. He can only be the unstoppable juggernaut. And he's only effective when he wins every match and marches for the title. Once he does that, and wins it, it's all downhill. He had an effective formula. Come out, get hyped up, win every match, come for the title, win it. But that's all. I don't blame WWE or Russo for "misuse", I blame him or the way he was originally package for being so one dimensional and allowing him to become a one trick pony. He's good for a year per promotion. Once you hype him up, put him over all your talent and put the strap on him you might as well job him and release him. |

He was the man.
Yes I liked him, yes he is a massive draw, yes he is a one trick pony, yes WCW and the WWE fucked up with him.

I never saw WCW so I can't comment on his WCW run.
But in WWE, no.... didn't like him at all. |
You guys are gonna tell me you didn't like it when Goldberg beat Hogan for the title on Nitro? Or when he beat Raven for the US Title by taking out the entire flock or whatever it was called? I find that hard to believe, I think WCW Title match was the last time Nitro had higher ratings than Raw.
I liked him sup until shortly after he won the belt. Before he won the belt, I did get a little tired of him running through guys, but only because a lot of them were complete jobbers. Other than that, the Goldberg character was pretty cool.
WWE, no. I didn't hate him that much, but I found him pretty blah. |
No sir.
MAJOR Goldberg mark. I started watching in late 1998 and Goldberg instantly became my first ever favorite wrestler
I was all about DDP and Sting. I hated Goldberg because Sting was gonna make him tap out on Nitro until the nWo fucked it up. Halloween Havoc 98 should have been the moment DDP became "the man" in WCW. I did mark out when he beat Hogan though because I have always hated Hogan.
I'm not gonna lie, I liked Goldberg....alot. In retrospect, I liked it best when he first started out in WCW and wasn't getting that much attention....but he was just DESTROYING fools. I liked the slow development of his character from that into "The Streak" and from there to beating Hogan, etc.
You don't really see that nowadays. Everything is so rushed and forced. He just got people's attention by being silent and violent. I liked how WCW didn't force him down the throat of it's fans. Obviously, they had big visions for him...but they gave the illusion that he even grew on the announcers and took them by surprise. Like he was an "out of the script" ass kicking machine. After a while they were like "Holy shit, this guy is on one hell of an unbeaten streak!" I don't know, my memory is for shit...but that's the way I remembered it. |
Jericho beat him atleast two or three times in WCW.
