For example, do you see where in the first trailer, two transformers are fighting one another? I know, I know, RP will say I'm a huge nerd for being able to pay attention to a 20 second commercial. Wow.
These aren't even the only two TV spots, and already, we have one that would actually indicate this is not predicated on alien invasion.
But thanks for changing your story again. It's not like you said anything like "What I'M saying is, the way they make it out seems like ID4, and not the original plotline" and then tried to back out when it was pointed out that the general plotline seems to be exactly what is mentioned in that Wikipedia article (And ALL I am going off off is the trailers and the description of the show YOU brought up yourself). It's an alien invasion! Unless you see the TV spots, or the trailers that don't make it look that way.
However, I'm curious as to why it matters. I mean, The nerds know what Transformers is. Hell, Transformers is pop culture. People are in the know, and will probably see it or not regardless of whether the correct plot id advertised. You would have had a valid argument, when they started in on this like 2 years ago, but since then, the advertising has made it clear that there are "good guy" robots.

:-\
And you STILL don't really get what I'm saying, do you? You continue on, trying to make it seem like I never read that article in Wiki. I think I've been consistant in all of this. Maybe you're just not seeing what my point is on this.
Let me go somewhat slower so we can be clear here:
1. Okay, we KNOW that the movie will follow the original storyline. We GOT that part. Regardless of what any of the tteasers will have you believe. We have passed that part of this. So right now, the story is rather clear when seeing the actual sypnopsis of the movie when compared to the original animated series (as much as you're responses would have us believe).
2. You're saying that because I brought up the article that I contradicted what I actually said. Uhh, NO!! That was to show what the orginal storyline was. Nothing else BUT to show you what the orginal storyline was. Alas, you're turning it to make it seem like I was trying to mean something else entirely when I posted the link.
3. This is about the teasers that are being shown on TV being inconsistant with the actual movie's storyline or the anime's. I saw that 2 second scene in which the autobot went after the "bad robot". And you made a great point in saying RP would say you're paying so much attention to a 20 second spot. You basically said, without knowing, that not many are going to catch that other robot (since one of the other main things, that is more in focus, is a semi that the autobot is THAT close to crashing into, and he doesn't even turn and go after the deception until the last half second of the teaser, so you'd think he's going after the truck). It's not even halfway onto the camera shot. And it's not guaranteed that everyone is going to see that particular spot (unless they can watch every channel 24/7 at the same time). That was the last 2 seconds of a 20 second commercial in which, before that glance of a scene that many will not catch, we have an announcer tell us that they're "taking over our planet", and military battling some robots. Nowhere does the announcer actually say that there are two clans battling each other. Again, it's inconsistancy (and no, this is not me changing my goddamn story again, it's me trying to find another way to explain this to you because you're obviously not getting this unless I spell this shit out for you).
4. Take a look at my original post:
Quote:
Is it me, or were the Transformers the "good guys" (or at least some of them) in the old and new cartoons (I THINK they are in the old ones, most of them I KNOW are good in the new cartoons).
I ask this because I'm having some problems accepting the teasers for the movie that I've been seeing. It's sounding like every last one of them want to kill the Earth or something (kind of like an Independence Day). If they do THAT, then I think they're is going to be a TON of confused people, and even MORE of angry fanboys of the original series and the new ones.
Anyone else having this problem, or can tell me why and if the movie is going about this route?

Ok, TEASERS!! First post, asking IF the robots were all bad, or there were two sides, because the teasers seem to be painting a different story. "It's" (ok, I'll give you this, I fucked the wording of this up, should've said "The teasers are" to be clearer) meaning the teasers. And "why and if the MOVIE is going about this route?" Again, only talking about the MOVIE!! And it's a QUESTION!!
YOUR answer:
Quote:
Jesus, I mean, it's not like they actually SAY in the commercials that some of them are here to protect us...
|
THERE'S the official reason for me posting the Wiki thing in the FIRST goddamn place. Because HERE, you say something to the effect that you know ALL the robots, according to the commercials, are going to be bad.

I KNOW how it's protrayed in the movie.
What I'M saying is, the way they make it out seems like ID4, and not the original plotline ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tra...series%29#Plot ).
If you only saw the teasers, you would have reason to think that anything that transforms in the movie is out to fuck with the humans, when it's just one clan of 'bots (Deception), and there's another group of 'bots that's trying to stop them from doing so (the Autobots). Thankfully, I read the Wiki page on the movie, and they will be following that according to the Wiki page, but the teaser just fucks up in telling the people this part of the movie.

Ok, "they" meaning the TEASERS (I thought by this point we were clear that we are talking about the TV spots at this fucking point). I post the original plotline link because YOU said something else entirely, saying it wasn't like the commercials SAID this. And by the way, go watch ID4 again, and compare the plotline there to what the announcer is saying in these teasers, PLEASE!! There IS somewhat of a similar storyline being implied in the teasers (note: TEASERS, not the MOVIE)!!

I'll ignore the fact that what you originally said was something different entirely, and I'll even pretend it's feasible that you could have meant that instead of that. But then, I go to your own link, and I look, and I immediately find something that describes the series that looks a lot like this movie.
I await your second revision and attempt to not sound fucking stupid out of all this.

Now you're DEFINITLY showing your ignorance. Either that, or your failure to not see what I'm actually saying. I GET that the movie and the series plots will be the same. WE GET THAT ALREADY!!! That's not what I've been trying to point out. Which, I THEN point out the teasers themselves, and THAT'S when you go and tell me about a 1-2 second part of the end of the first teaser that no one is going to catch unless they actually LOOK REALLY HARD at it (as in, pause it or watch it over and over and over), and because of that, I'm completly wrong and you're the only one that could possibly be right.
And because of the two second, freeze frame-needed scene, the advertising is "clear" on who is the good guys? I'm changing my story over and over? I think I've been rather clear and consistant as to what I'm talking about, and why I'm giving you the resources I am giving you. You're the one suddenly getting so offended that you have to think that you're the only one that has all the answers.
OK, now PLEASE, when you go to form your answer to this (and I'm sure you've got one), PLEASE be informed that we're talking about the teasers that would show on TV, NOT the trailer that they would show on a preview rally before a movie (which MIGHT have said something to the effect of there are two sides to the "war", I honestly don't know about the trailer since I've yet to see the trailer. Only seen the teasers), I KNOW what the Wiki articles say (both of them), and I KNOW (NOW, at least) that they are going to follow cannon instead of doing something completly different like I was to believe FROM THE FUCKING TEASERS (there's that word again)!! Because I honestly don't know how clearer I can make this for you.
