Hatton vs Floyd Mayweather JR - ITS ON

Mayweather just said he'd come out of retirement to fight Hatton. Which was pretty much the only stumbeling block between the two fighting was Mayweathers resistance. Now its happening.

No date. But lets go ahead and talk about it.

ct2k 06-27-2007 04:24 PM

Dang, well it'd be awesome and now Hatton has destroyed Castillo the money will be HUGE

Ogen 06-27-2007 05:19 PM

Be a fantastic fight think Mayweather would take him though, be a fight I'd certainly pay for

Kris P Lettus 06-27-2007 05:24 PM

Boxing is horrible..

Kris P Lettus 06-27-2007 05:25 PM

But speaking of Mayweather, when's he gonna fight Chuck Liddell, you know, cause he said he could whoop him and all??

RP 06-27-2007 05:29 PM

If it was boxing only, i'm positive Mayweather would work him over.

Kris P Lettus 06-27-2007 06:49 PM

He said he could beat Chuck under MMA rules..

ct2k 06-27-2007 06:54 PM

Floyd Mayweather would say day was night ffs, ignore him.

Liddell and any other MMA guy worth his salt would destroy FMJ in the octagon just like FMJ would destroy Liddell and any other MMA guy in the ring, no arguments please.

Kris P Lettus 06-27-2007 06:56 PM

I wouldn't say any MMA fighter as alot of guys come from a boxing/kick boxing background..

Liddell being one of those..

ct2k 06-27-2007 06:59 PM

Any MMA fighter could catch FMJ with that one lucky punch (though that is yet to happen as we all know) but none would have a chance if he decided to go to school on them, he's a technical virtuoso, he has great power, superb reflexes and is ridiculously quick, Liddell wouldn't have a chance.

ct2k 06-27-2007 07:09 PM

Oh and again dont get me wrong here, MMA guys would school FMJ too, sure he could deck plenty if they actually tried to outstrike him, but most would be smart enough to take it to the mat where he'd be totally fucked.

Crimson 06-27-2007 09:45 PM

I'd be more excited for this fight if I knew Mayweather wouldn't jab n' run all night.

mrslackalack 06-27-2007 10:29 PM

Both turn it on for big time fights but I think Hatton would beat Mayweather. Hatton destroyed Castillo while I felt Mayweather lost his first fight with Castillo.

mrslackalack 06-27-2007 10:32 PM

The only time I thought Hatton looked awful in a fight was the Collazo fight, Collazo gave Hatton a heck of a fight and even knocked him down in the 12th rd. If I am correct HBO gave Collazo the fight.

Jordan 06-28-2007 12:45 AM

How does this turn into an MMA topic? This fight could be HUGE for boxing, I am hyped already.

Super V 06-28-2007 12:56 AM

It's gonna be a horrible fight. One jabs and runs, the other throws and holds.

Kris P Lettus 06-28-2007 01:07 AM

That's the only thing boxers can do..

Renaissance man 06-28-2007 02:45 AM

Its gonna be a hell of a match- My prediction: Mayweather tko round 7. Hatton is powerfull granted but way to slow to hang with mayweather's speed.

Predictions anybody?

Rob 06-28-2007 07:23 PM

Mayweather has no chance of knocking Hatton out. NONE! Might get a decision but no chance of a win before the final bell.

Hatton's camp offered Mayweather $10 million to fight in England.

CSL 06-28-2007 07:29 PM

Ricky's gonna slap his lips off. Mayweather's got a real big mouth (and not in the fun way) and seeing him flat out would be beautiul :)

Renaissance man 06-29-2007 11:56 AM

Hell yeah! Its time he gets brought down to earth bigtime!

Ogen 07-28-2007 07:45 AM

Well its confirmed its on gonna be a fantastic fight.

packt up 07-28-2007 08:23 AM

Hatton will win me thinks.

diothoir 07-28-2007 03:44 PM

Hatton would win I say, the fight will be key though.

Rob 07-28-2007 05:01 PM

Depending of weight and venue, I'd bet on an underdog Hatton knocking out Mayweather. He is gonna get hit like he has never been hit in his life and Mayweather only has speed on Hatton. Hatton fought bigger punchers and never has been rocked. Mayweather's best bet is jab and run. All the combos (that land!) will come from the Brit.

RP 07-28-2007 08:35 PM

ITS OFFICIAL! December 8th.

All Mayweather had to do was say he wanted the fight and this would have happend like 2 years ago. Hatton will be moving to Mayweathers weight.

Fight goes the distance. Mayweather wins a decision.

what changed?

mrslackalack 07-28-2007 10:10 PM

Hatton by spilt decision in the biggest boxing match between 2 UNDEFEATED fighters since De La Hoya/Trinidad in Sept 99.

I'm sorry. I misread your first qoute. Thought it said no way Hatton will knock Mayweather out.

mrslackalack 07-30-2007 11:26 PM

If Mayweather wins, then its another huge win for his legacy and he might think about retirement (even though theres still some HUGE money fights out there for him still in diff weight classes rematch with Oscar, Taylor, Winky, Mosley, or maybe even go back down and weight and fight Cotto.) If Hatton wins then I think it should make him a mainstream boxing star and possibly elevate him to the #1 Pound for Pound Fighter out there,

Rob 07-31-2007 01:19 PM

Mayweather in a DLH rematch or a possible fight with Taylor (I can't see this happening) are the only fights out there for him aside from Hatton.

Ricky will slap the taste right out of Mayweathers mouth. Reckon it could go the distance....but I'll be looking for Ricky knocking him on his arse in one of the later rounds.

mrslackalack 07-31-2007 10:08 PM

Friends in the UK who is more over Hatton or Calgzahe?

I think if Mayweather and Taylor ever fought that Mayweather would win even though Taylors a larger fighter. Taylor barely got past Cory Spinks who is a decent fighter but someone Taylor should have rolled past.

What if it goes to the judges? They sit outside.

Hatton. It's not even close. Hatton hasn't even fought on free TV yet either. Calzaghe is poorly promoted. If you asked someone if they knew who Joe Calzaghe was, they might be able to tell you but they couldn't tell you anything about his fights or anything. Hatton is more of a normal guy outside the ring and very fan friendly. Nobody dislikes him.

Of course, there are outside influences in every walk of life, but they're a good bunch of lads and I trust them to do their best.
