TNA Impact (June 28)
 

It'll probably be a meh show. I really like how they're introducing the wrestlers after their entrances, while they're all standing in the ring. I think they should do this for every "big" match.

Angle's getting his ass handed to him by Joe. I thought Angle is supposed to be the toughest guy in the business.

<font color=white>Not watching this but I gotta say I was impressed with heel Kurt Angle last week. Could be some great stuff coming from him. And the Jarrett VP was one of the saddest things I've seen in wrestling.</font>

The opening match is a triple threat Angle vs Christian vs Rhino. It's actually pretty good. Angle had Rhino in the ankle lock. Christian walked up to Angle. Angle tripped him, and locked both Rhino and Christian in the ankle lock. Pretty sweet.

Rhino had Angle in a nice looking Boston crap. Not too exciting, but it was nice to see a sick looking Boston crap. I haven't seen a good one in a while.

Of course there had to be a run in. Abyss chased Christian out of the ring. There's a table set up in the corner. I bet Rhino misses a gore, goes through the table, then Angle locks on the ankle lock.

I know I'm just talking to myself.

I have no idea. But it's nearly 40 minutes into the show, so maybe the whole match is Impact. Or it will end close to 10 and there will be some lame segments backstage or something.

Does anyonet think that the text question thing they asked is just for money?

If this show is pre-taped....and they are asking fans to text in now...Then do the texts really matter? Dont they already know who is gonna be the one that wins when the show was taped 2 tuesdays ago. So basically fans are just giving them money?

I like how for a few minutes all they showed was the run in clusterfuck fighting outside the ring.

All they are showing are the people who aren't in the actual match, fighting.

Why do people like Christian? He's the exact same as he was in WWE, yet he's a god to TNA fans.

Which leads me to believe that, if John Cena would go to TNA, they would call it the second coming of Christ.

I really don't think this match went as long as they said. It was taped a week ago, which gives the plenty of time to edit it to make it seems longer. As an example, Christain was "outside" the "arena" and said he was going back to the ring, then the show goes to commericial, for a good three minutes, and when they come back, it's still a minute before he gets to the ringside area.

Christian has been pretty amazing in TNA. You're allowed your opinion, but being a Christian mark, I gotta say ever since he turned heel in TNA he's been the top guy in the company.

I bet TNA marks would boo the shit out of Cena for two minutes... then cheer him because the Impact Zone is full of marks.

Meh. Even so, it was still pretty damn long for a TNA, or pro wrestling match these days. A really nice change.

I'll admit that TNA is usually pretty bad (and this is coming from a guy who likes TNA), but at least this week was pretty good. No crappy backstage promos = good!

No bad promos is good, but a World Title match with 37 run-ins (That might be a slight exaggeration.) isn't.

I think it was 34 to be exact, but I agree. I really liked the match, and the idea of having one long ass match on Impact, but it would have been so much better had it been just Angle, Benoit, and Christian. Those guys are talented enough to pull off a near hour long triple threat match.

But the run ins served as a purpose for some feuds. Looks like we'll be getting Christian vs Chris Harris, Rhino vs James Storm, Abyss vs Tomco (and possibly AJ). Maybe sting vs AJ. I still would have preferred no run ins.

I could see Russo trying to capitalize in someway off this Benoit tragedy.

(Black Machismo is in a 3 way dance for the X-Division title. He leaves the ring, reaches under it and pulls out a midget foaming from the mouth and dressed like X-Men Wolverine.)

***CUE BENOIT'S MUSIC***


Tenay: "Oh my God, could it be?"

West: "NO WAY! I think it is!"

Tenay: "IT'S THE RABID WOLVERINE!"

West: "Black Machismo just threw the Rabid Wolverine on Samoa Joe! 1-2-3, we have a new champion! THIS IS SO BIZARRE!!!!"

I mean they'd be ripping off Finlays gimmick.

I guess I successfully blocked Black Machismo from my mind after he lost the X-div title to Joe, after a day, maybe two.

I also hate how they say "There is no glass ceiling in TNA!" They should add at the end of that, "Unless your name is Samoa Joe!."

I never realized how terrible of a worker Rhyno has become, no wonder the WWE didn't want his ass no more.

Who was Kronik supposed to be?

For a while they were complete rip offs of the APA. I remember their saying "Breakin' necks and cashing checks"
