Wrestling Action Figures
So I'm looking at action figures on Ebay and wanna start another collection. But there was some stuff I would like to know before I do anything.
First off, I'm 20, and yes, I intend on playing with them. It just seems that action figures are so much cooler looking than when I was buying them, and I've been wanting to see the Wrestlemania rings for ages now (the 1:1 scale ones with the figures). Is this cool? Lame? I have no intention of getting a girlfriend right now... and any figures I buy will be from Ebay, so it's not like I'm spending loads on them. How posable are the figures? I remember having a few from around 2002 or summit, and they were really stiff. You couldn't get their legs up to simulate kicks or nothing. I have a Kurt Angle figures who could barely do anything. Are they still like this? I use to have some of the WCW from 1999/2000, and they were really cool. What are the TNA ones like? I wouldn't mind getting a few such as Styles, Daniels, Joe etc. They look pretty posable and similar to the 1999 WCW ones. Chris Daniels VS Chris Benoit. AJ Styles VS Rob Van Dam. Is there a CM Punk figure yet? Also a Worlds Greatest Tag Team? Lol. This is an example of a "Stiff Figure". If I had an RVD figure I'd want to be able to do his kicks and stuff. These figures legs can barely move. http://www.highspots.com/images/imag...yy_ecw_rvd.jpg Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Oh yeah... this is for my little brother. :shifty: :p ;) :D |

I love the classic superstars. They are really good looking figures, although I only own two. I just keep them for display.

They are quite posable. You can do pretty much what you want with 'em. There are some that have a bend/joint in the stomach. Those are the most posable.
There is a CM Punk figure, dunno how easy to get hold of it is atm though. There's bound to be a WGTT set since they've been around for ages. TNA figures look...cheaper I guess is the right word although I want the Alex Shelley figure. |
There are three CM Punk figures, and yes I have all three.
I have quite a few figures, mainly Classics and the majority of them are displayed on my computer desk. From Ric Flair, to Edge, to JBL, to Arn Anderson, to Demolition, my collection is bad ass. |
I have a whole boatload of figures.
I have all the WWF LJN's, as well as the Hasbro collection. Lots of doubles as well. I also have pretty much all the WCW figures released in the US, from the first set to the last one. I also have the entire WWE Classic Superstars collection. And various other figures, including ones from Mexico and Japan, the generic wrestling figs, ECW and a few TNA ones - mainly Shark Boy and Christian [which is really cool], and some of the ones from the first few sets. I have a load of figures from the various JAKKS WWF sets of the 1990's, and most of the stuff from when they first switched to WWE. Since then I've only collected the Classics set, and various figures that I wanted to have - like all the Hogan ones, and some of the other guys I enjoy like Regal, etc. |
My problem is that if I like the look of the figure, I some how end up buying it regardless if I've ever marked out for them (mainly Classics). I've ended up buying more than I should which leads me to selling them on eBay or trading them with other people online. Guys like the Nasty Boys come to mind and most recently Sherri Martel (before she passed away).
And then there are some that I ended up getting and I ended up hating the figure (Akeem, Vader, Bigelow). |
Awesome. Cheers guys. :y:

There is nothing wrong with playing with wrestling action figures. I own 3, 2 of which I bought, one was a gift. I once found a Tommy Dreamer and Sabu ECW action figures at a dollar store and bought them. Then I got a Stone Cold for christmas or a birthday as a gag gift.
I think I still have all of them, I just only know where the Sabu is. |

That's what happened to me with a lot of the later Classics figures. I didn't really like the person so much, but I liked the look, so I'd buy it. Then others I got I liked the person, but not the look, and still got the figure. |

I own the real scale ring, and a large number of the classics. Haven't got any recently though, may get DDP though.

Haven't gotten new ones or taken mine out in ages, but the new ones do look cool. I wouldn't mind picking up a CM Punk, Nitro and others if I had money to throw away, but I don't really.

The deluxe CM Punk.
Just got a Deluxe Chris Benoit (yellow tights, with a ladder) on Ebay. :D Will definitely get this big ass ring when I can be bothered. |
The last new figure I bought is I believe I got a Cena and Orton on the same day back in late 03 or early 04.
|
I was about 3 seconds from buying a Johnny Nitro figure a couple weeks ago, but I bought a cheap dvd instead

2 more questions: Are the figures real scale? Is Rey Mysterio smaller than Batista for example?
I can picure them all being the same size... which would be kinda lame. And does anyone know where I can get one of the scale rings cheap? I'm looking on Ebay and the cheapest (including postage) comes up to £57.50. Just thought I see if there are any cheap ones before I splash out. Thanks in advance. :y: |
