Which Children of Bodom album should I listen to?

I see 3 on suprnova, have heard good things about this band...but never actually heard them...

Follow the Reaper
Hate Crew Deathroll
Something wild

?

Their albums are pretty interchangable anyway, so just listen to them all. :p

Odd that you can't find Hatebreeder though, since it's usually considered their best...

I'd check em out in this order:

Hatebreeder
Follow The Reaper
Hate Crew Deathroll
Something Wild

If you have to download only one song though, download "Bed of Razors".

oh, and btw Klepto, nice sig. Krystal Steal =

<font color=969696>Something Wild is kind of black metal with neoclassical influences.

Hatebreeder is by far the best as far as songwriting goes. It has neoclassical influence.

Follow the Reaper is the catchiest, not as much neoclassical...

Hate Crew Deathroll is the heaviest. Very thrashy.</font>

Get them all

The Outlaw 02-26-2004 02:58 PM

I'm downloading Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper right now.

If I like them, I will download the other two. :y:

<font color=969696>"If you like them."

Pfft, like there's any doubt.</font>

el fregadero 02-27-2004 01:45 AM

<font color=teal>Pretty good stuff, I can only take so much of his voice though. I guess I'm not kvlt enough.</font> :-\

The Destroyer 02-27-2004 03:39 AM

Yeah, the vocals can be a bit of stumbling block with CoB... you'll get used to them though. ;)

The Outlaw 02-28-2004 07:59 PM

I think I'm in love...

asphyXy 02-28-2004 08:02 PM

<font color=969696>Why didn't anyone download Children of Bodom two years ago when I told everyone about them? God damn.</font>

el fregadero 02-28-2004 08:37 PM

<font color=teal>I wasn't at this place two years ago.</font>

asphyXy 02-28-2004 09:15 PM

<font color=969696>That's no excuse.</font>

I burned a copy of Hatebreeder and I just didn't enjoy that guy's voice enough.

I do enjoy Arch Enemy though.

asphyXy 02-28-2004 09:39 PM

<font color=969696>Alexi's voice is better than that slut Angela Gossow.

This is a fact, not an opinion.</font>

<font color=969696>Download the song "Needled 24/7" and see if you like the vocals in that song. He sings differently.</font>

Working on it.

Champion of Europa 02-28-2004 09:47 PM

Also, it wasn't a matter of singing with Alexi and Angela, it was more of a thing of who's growl I enjoy more.

It's sexier coming from a female. ;)

Champion of Europa 02-28-2004 09:51 PM

I'm liking it.

The Outlaw 02-29-2004 04:23 PM

I tried to download some of their shit back in the day, but the only song I could get for some reason was Kissing the Shadows live.

Got that shit now tho.

asphyXy 02-29-2004 04:43 PM

<font color=969696>Kissing The Shadows live is insane. Alexi solos while he sings.</font>

The Outlaw 02-29-2004 08:16 PM

This version was mehish.

Maybe I didn't listen to it enough. :$

asphyXy 02-29-2004 09:29 PM

<font color=969696>Is it live in Paris? That's a decent quality bootleg.</font>

asphyXy 02-29-2004 09:33 PM

<font color=969696>You should listen to the studio version of the song first.</font>
