Zelda - Ocarina Of Time
 

As this game was voted best ever in a poll, I want to know how good the game is from folk on the board that have played it. What is it about this game that makes it better than all other RPG's. Basically I have never played the game and want to know why everybody rates it so well.

Kind of feel this could have been brought up in the other topic but whatever. Just worked well. Was a great move from 2d to 3d, the storyline was great, the characters and town would often feel alive. The game was just so deep to in a lot of ways, add to the fact it was a Zelda game which gives it some points right there. And the graphics still look good today, some games don't age to well but I think this one has. Also just how big the world was, how brilliant the music was, it truly is a great game. I know people bash Zelda now for just doing same thing over and over, and even I'm getting sick of it to , but OoT was before all that during a better time.

PS I'd fuck Epona. YAY BEASTIALITY!

It was deep.. For it's time, the world was huge, the characters were awesome, and the "seamless" flow for place to place was outstanding.. And as PG said, it with stood the "test of time".. I've played and beaten it prolly 10 times.. Never gets old..

ps. I recently started replaying Perfect Dark for the 64 and many aspects of that game are better than ALL other first person shooters.. Specially the multiplayer stuff.. I dunno, these two games are def in my top 5 all time..

Oh and Fable is the only game that gave me the same kinda feel as OoT..

one time i played fable and it was really stupid. all we tried to do was make our characters lives exactly like our real lives, which meant being real dirty and trying to pick up guys and fuck them.

OoT is an indcredible game. So much to do and see and such fun doing it. The music was great, the graphics were great, everything about it was great. I wish my N64 still worked:(

Also Fable is immense too. Way to short(even wih the lost chapters), but immense. I think it feels too short becasue it is so fucking good. I was pissed off that it was over. Some games i wish could carry on indefintely.

I totally agree here. First of all, I got really sick of the overemphasis on the "child" side of things. I know this was a time when Nintendo was trying their damnedest to hook a younger generation of players to keep buying their products, but as an adult I've had to cringe when playing through parts of it. And the Kokiri were fucking gay. The more a video game is like Peter Pan, the more likely it is that it's going to piss me off.

Also, parts of the whole ocarina-playing was just fucking annoying. I really hated having to remember how to play the damn sun song just to make it daylight so that I could pull something off.

The water temple was the most obnoxious piece of shit on the planet. If anyone can prove to me that they ever beat it without a strategy guide, I will personally suck their dick.*

Also, when did a Zora go from being a hideous water beast to a naked, translucent, vaguely erotic "gray" alien-like creature? Would it have been so hard to give them a different name? Fucking lazy.

I also don't give a damn about horses. Fuck Epona. Fuck her in the asshole with a big rubber dick.

You know what would have been nice? An option to put Navi in a bottle to make her shut the fuck up.

In the end, I think Link to the Past is a better game. It's just as challenging and narratively rich, but it has fewer problems.

I never use stratergy guides and i beat the shit out the water temple.

Some parts of that game are infuriating. still loved it though.

replay it occasionally, but usually stop before water temple, I really hated that shit. Also agree bout Navi, fuck her annoying cunt ass.

Water Temple was one of the toughest levels on any video game ever

The Water Temple wasn't that hard once you found out how to change the water level..

And then you put on those stupid fucking boots.

And then you sink to the bottom and run around, only to realize that you were in the wrong place.

So you take them off and float up.

And then realize you can't reach what you're supposed to reach yet.

So you change the water level.

Rinse.

Repeat.

Kepora Gebora was a million times more annoying then Navi, Lonlon Ranch is what made this game awesome

He has like ten minutes of presence in the game, Navi is with you CONSTANTLY.

And oh yeah, why did the fairies in the springs go from being hot chicks with wings to being something Picasso shat out?

Seriously. Why the hell they didn't give you the option to at least turn the cunt's voice off is beyond me.
