Rodrigo Y Gabriela (No St. Jimmys allowed)
Contrary to our resident holy man's opinion, I think Rodrigo Y Gabriela are excellent. I felt this warranted a new thread as his had sunk into obscurity and also was not made with good intentions :(.
Anyway, they are the goods. If you haven't heard, they are a couple of Mexican guys who uprooted to Ireland and have made a name for themselves playing awesome acoustic dueling guitar, crossing that traditional acoustic Spanish/Mexican guitar style with influences like Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and that general lot of heavy metal bands. It's not as sucky as it sounds though (if you like metal, disregard that "sucky" comment). Regardless, it is an excellent listen and I highly recommend it. If you're into that sort of thing. |
I'd better like them. Or I'm never listening to any of your recommendations again. :(
I shall let you know in due course. |
Downloading an album off Demonoid. Rob also recommended them.

Being honest, I don't know how great they'd sound on record, but all the live footage of them is very very impressive.

If it's not in english, it's not valid.
|
It's not in anything. It's instrumental.
Plus, the song titles are in English. What now, smart guy? |
They are the goods.
|
Actually I just realised that "song titles are in English" thing is only a half-truth. My apologies, St. Jimmy.
