Anyone watching Live Earth on BBC?
Nice line up...looking forward to Genesis...only because my mother used to listen to them when I was growing up...so their songs are kinda seared into my mind.
|
Yeah I watched the Aussie one - thank christ they didn't have to scrape the bottom of the barrel and serve up shit like Genesis
|
They only showed a couple of the Metallica songs. They should have shown the full lot, instead of swapping over to Sydney to watch some crappy crowded house shite.
Other than that, the program is too preachy for me to watch for long periods of time. |
Apart from Metallica (Who weren't great) and John Legend (No idea why I like him) the lineup was turd. Fucking Bloc Party, Razorlight, RHCP, the usual crap.
|
Spinal Tap - WTF?
|
My best friend is at the one in Jersey

yeah that pissed me off when they changed over aswell you could here them start to play Enter Sandman!!! I mean wtf was the BBC thinking, putting on crowded house over metallica!!! |
I'm watching in on MHD before I head to work... Foo Fighters just finished up. Not a bad show from what I have seen. For a great cause as well.
|
I watched it for a few hours, saw RHCP, Genesis, Linkin Park, Duran Duran..
RHCP, Duran Duran and Genesis sounded great. Linkin Park sounded horrible. Go figure. |
Chris Rock screaming "motherfucker" on daytime TV was awesome though.
|
Kanye...blehhhhh.
|
BON FUCKING JOVI.
|
I thought John Mayer was pretty good too.
|
Diggin' Pink Floyd rite now.
The Pussy Cat Dolls suck as much live as they do...er...not live, also that Rhinnon un ber ella chck was woeful as was Shiraka. |

The Foo Fighters were pretty good though.
|
lol Spinal Tap were on it?
|
The whole thing was a Spinal Tap moment.
Let's save the planet - now watch us use up 1000,000,000,000 kilowatts of energy with sound and lighting and dump 1000,000,000 tons of CO2 in the atmosphere flying that shit all over the world. |
I liked that they were interviewing vegetarians and they were saying how much of a difference not eating meat makes for the environment, and then the next commercial break, there's a commercial for A1 barbecue sauce.
|
The vegetarian angle shit me - they crapped out some stat about if you didn't eat meat for just on meal a week you would save X amount of emmissions of animal farts, yeah that's great.
Now take a drive past a market garden and see what they use to harvest the vegetables... Wankers |
rofl, dumbass veggies.
Also, Crowded House is good, so piss off :D |

The worst part I bothered to actually see was some African chick and Joss Stone in Jo'Burgh absolutely murdering Gimme Shelter. Ugh. |
1 out of 7
What of all the extra enery used up with people turning their TV's on to watch that crap who normally would hav had a carbon netural piss about in the back yard. |
lol 150 people complained about the swearing, and 400 people complained about Metallica's set being cut short.
|
NBC coverage of Live Earth was beaten by a re-run on Monsters Inc
Shows how much everyone cares about this. These concerts don't fucking work |
Monsters Inc is a pretty good movie though

Yes everyone know that we need to stop destroying the planet, i get it! I don't need pop stars to tell me as well |
I agree Dave, the last thing we need is to raise awareness to the fact (or fiction if you are retarded) of the effects of global warming, orclimate change, or The Greenhouse Effect, of whatever the new buzz word for polluting the planet is now.
I agree something needs to be done on a global level to slowdown the amount of shit that is spewed into the atmosphere, recycle more etc, but to have a series of massive concerts and pretend that is helping combat climate change by "raising awareness" is bollocks. |
