Songs your parents listened to

Are there any artists/songs that may be a little embarrassing, etc. that your parents listened to that these days, no matter how bad they are, you still listen to the whole song and smile.

I suppose my dads love of Queen was passed onto me, and anything by Phil Collins/Genesis that my mum listened to I just listen to the song and smile.

My mum also used to listen to a lot of K.D Lang...thank goodness none of that shit was passed on!!!

Discuss.

My parents listen to a lot of classical rock since they were partying a lot in the 70's. They still listen to good music nowadays. They made me discover plenty of bands from that era.

The Bangles' "Walk Like an Egyptian" and "Manic Monday" were always favorites. Pretty much anything by REO Speedwagon, too. Other than that, my parents listen to pretty terrible music.

My mom listens to The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Yes, Elton John and Led Zeppelin. My dad barely listens to music but when he does it's usually 50's stuff or The Doors.

I grew up on good music.

Both of them love Zeppelin and The Eagles, my Mum is a massive Bowie fan, if I remember correctly my Dad's car currently has Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Small Faces and Pink Floyd in it.

Its quite odd how I picked up their taste in music, yet my brother has literally the worst taste in music of anyone I have ever met (mind you he's 6 years older and could get a full "appreciation" for 80s music)

My mum is into The Doors, The White Stripes, David Bowie, The Waterboys, Kings of Leon and some others.

My dad is completley obsessed with Led Zepplin, I honestly wouldn't be suprised if he turned out to be their biggest fan. He's also into Jethro Tull, Joe Satriani, Tool and Neil Young.

I've never really talked to my parents about it. I know they like Elton John and the Beetles. And I know my dad went to a Deep Purple concert. But they listen to crap also.

U2, Floyd, Zepplin, Cat stevens, Beegees, Elton John, Red hot chillies, dire straits, I could name a thousand artists, a million songs I was brought up on, all of which I love.
