Thinking about it, Kahli is the only one that make sence as champion.

Out of the Smackdown main event scene, given the current circumstances, makes the most since. If Kane had won, they wouldn't have a title match because Bats and Kahli already have a story line contract to face each other, and no one else is really a contender. Bats couldn't win because that would make the whole "do or die" match completely pointless. So when you think about it, outside of pulling someone else from Raw, Kahli makes the most sense.

Pepsi Man 07-20-2007 10:01 PM

Given that Batista was in the Battle Royal to begin with, I'd say the "Do or Die" Match was just as pointless.

Kane Knight 07-20-2007 10:03 PM

It makes sense. If you were huffing...

Innovator 07-20-2007 10:05 PM

Great Collie is the farthest thing from a World Champion, sans Nitrorrison. Your champ should be able to hold his own in the ring, not be a walking liability.

James Steele 07-20-2007 10:06 PM

He will drop it to Bats at the Bash anyway.

Did you just say Johnny Morrison is a worse champ than Khali?

Chris Benoit, in his current condition would be better than...

...O, I see what you mean.

Sepholio 07-20-2007 10:20 PM

If Kahli drops the title to Kane or Batista at the Bash it makes sense, if he doesn't, then the whole idea of him winning it in the first place is bullshit. I'm really hoping that Kane wins it, keep it off Bats for a little while longer at least and let him have a proper match with Khali, instead of 3-4 months of Bats vs Khali at every PPV for the title.

At least Collie was winning matches before he got the title. Nitro went from Heat or dark matches to being the ECW Champ.

Kane Knight 07-20-2007 10:29 PM

That's like saying "at least K-Fed is a known name."

Innovator 07-20-2007 10:31 PM

True.....well his mic skills are better than Nitro's

Jura 07-20-2007 10:41 PM

Collie, Kahli, sence.

Kane Knight 07-20-2007 10:41 PM

Touché.

mrslackalack 07-20-2007 10:45 PM

The Do or Die matchs stipulation was that Batista couldnt recieve no more title shots as long as EDGE was champion, since the title was vacant he was allowed to enter the battle royal and get a title shot.

mrslackalack 07-20-2007 10:46 PM

It was the first time ever I think that the man who they called the odds on favorite to win (Khali) won it.

James Steele 07-20-2007 11:12 PM

WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE ON BRIGHT, MICHAEL!

BigDaddyCool 07-20-2007 11:15 PM

Anyhow, I like kahli.

apokalypse7 07-21-2007 04:54 AM

In a few years, I feel that we'll be looking back and saying "Nitro wasn't ready for that championship, but Morrison Grew into it. His mic skills improved in front of our eyes and he put on some classics with ______.
We can look forward to putting John Hendrix in the HOF!"

Seriously, I feel that Nitro has TONS of upside, and will be a better champ than most, even Kennedy. And Khali? I won't continue Dissing him, but whoever pins him gets a rub for pinning the Punjabi Giant...

chrisat928 07-21-2007 06:10 AM

I like Khalis little translator monkey. I find him somewhat entertaining, after his first appearence.
His first appearence was horrible, but since then, I like him.

I  when he tried to hold Khalis arm up.

addy2hotty 07-21-2007 07:21 AM

Khali eats champions for breakfast, he was the obvious choice.

Mr. Nerfect 07-21-2007 10:10 AM

There were two better ways to go about the World Heavyweight Championship, scene. Actually, three.

1) Kane was named World Heavyweight Champion, and a Battle Royal was held on SmackDown! to determine his #1 Contender. Kane vs. Finlay at The Great American Bash, in what may not seem like a main event match, but would have delivered in quality (not a MOTYC, but definitely passable) with Kane retaining the belt.

2) Kane is named World Heavyweight Champion, and The Great Khali vs. Batista match is dissolved into it, and we get the Triple Threat with Kane retaining.

3) The belt was held vacant, and we get the Battle Royal at The Great American Bash for the belt, or just do the Triple Threat Match with SmackDown!'s confirmed GAB contigency, with Kane picking up the win and the vacant World Heavyweight Championship.

Also, The Great Khali is not likely to lose the World Heavyweight Title at The Bash. The most likely outcome is that Khali will pin Kane, and Batista will then claim he was not pinned, leading to him getting another unfounded title shot, where he might actually have a chance at beating Khali. In fact, I think a Batista win at Summerslam is damn likely at this point.

It's sad, because the World Heavyweight Title match is being booked like the Women's Division. The worst wrestler will win.

How's he a liability? He hasn't injured anybody during his entire WWE tenure.

Innovator 07-21-2007 11:11 AM

yet

Kane Knight 07-21-2007 11:11 AM

It doesn't take an expert to spot how sloppy he is. That he hasn't injured anyone yet is more a miracle than a good sign.

Anybody Thrilla 07-21-2007 11:23 AM

Well, I just think it's unfair to persecute a guy who hasn't technically fucked up when plenty of others have.

Well, technically Khali doesn't need to injure anyone to be a liability. That would just make him a greater liability. As it stands right now, Khali adds nothing to WWE programming. The WWE are presumingly paying him a lot of money, so really, it's their loss.

Kane Knight 07-21-2007 12:16 PM

When a fuckup is inevitable, and obvious, it's not punishment. IT's common sense.

And I agree with you, here. I have nothing personally against Khali, he's just damn boring. Honestly, he's comarable to watching paint dry. There is some foolish praising of his "comedic" mic skills, but personally I think it's sad.

However, I do have to agree with KK, he doesn't seem to be a ring general, or anything. If he is required to actually wrestle, and do more than headbutts and his chops, I think we'll see some of his clumsiness come out. I don't want to make the guy out to incompotent, but I wouldn't really expect him to catch me on a crossbody attempt, even if it were the scripted spot.

Kane Knight 07-21-2007 12:21 PM

Also, when someone holds a gun to your head, you don't wait until he shoots you to consider him a threat.

People are pretty desparate to find somethng to like in wrestling. They're fawning over Khali in a desperate attempt to do so. It is sad, because really, they're too stupid to just change the channel, but there you have it.

Rammsteinmad 07-21-2007 12:31 PM

I know it's totally random and would never have happened anyway, but I would have liked to see Finley win it. I mean he's main evented a few PPV's and loads of Smackdowns, and he definitely can go in the ring AND on the mic. Plus with Hornswoggle he is extremely over.

Finley w/ Hornswoggle VS Kane for the title coulda happened at the Bash. But nooooooo.

Anybody Thrilla 07-21-2007 12:31 PM

You guys don't get it. He's so fucking BIG.

I was an extra in The Longest Yard, and I'll tell you, Khali's dong is the longest yard any of you would never wanna see.

OK, Heyman.

Anybody Thrilla 07-21-2007 03:26 PM

Mr. Pierre 07-21-2007 03:57 PM

I would have preferred them start a tournament for the title at GAB, and have the finals at Summerslam. Batista vs. Rey Mysterio would have been a nice final match for Summerslam given their history.

4) Draft Val Venis from RAW to Smackdown and have him win the battle royal and become new World Heavyweight Champion, and complete his Grand Slam.

So how exactly could one yard be any longer than another yard?
